Chelsmarie, So sorry to hear about your health insurance. Are you able to Appeal that decision? Are you able to apply for public assistance? Does the hospital have a program that covers medical bills for those without insurance? Have you considered applying for disability? Would your doctor support you going out on disability? I pushed myself to work too long and should have gone out on disability and quit work sooner than I did. My job got rid of me. I worked in pain, total misery most days and they got rid of me anyway. Don't give up! Check out your options. Weigh out if it is worth continuing working. I am meeting with an agency that helps people who are disabled work. My medical issues has caused me to have limitations that I can't work full-time. See what is available in your area. I hope this provides some place to start. I will be praying for you.

Thanks guys! I was already in government insurance, and they are kicking me off because i make slightly more than their income limit. I did look at other insurance plans, but they are not very affordable. I am only 28 years old, therefore disability will be very very hard to obtain. I will be asking my doctor for ideas, but for now, im just trying to hold myself together.

So sorry to hear about your loss of medical insurance. Cry if you need to then as FlappysLady suggested. β€œDon’t give up.” Get going and look into some of the options MySistersKeeper suggested. Do you have a diagnosis? Is what you are doing as part of your job affecting/or part of the reason for your pain? If your able to appeal their decision. Good luck and keep searching for another insurance.

Chelsmarie, I understand. The Obamacare medical plan was a good idea but they rushed it through without thinking it through. It provides coverage for people at poverty level but the people above poverty level income are left out. And companies find ways of not having to cover employees because the whole "world of insurance" rates went up on everyone who pays for private coverage, to cover the cost of those at poverty level. My daughter works and has a 5 person household. She was told the government expects her to pay for her family to have minimal insurance or get penalized on her taxes. She makes less than $20,000 a year for a family of 5 (& a half when the stepdaughter comes). Because she earns above poverty level income she's caught in the same boat you just got thrown into. It's really messed up and needs revamping. I think sometimes that socialized medical care, like Canada or Germany has, might be a better idea. In Germany everyone gets medical care & everyone pays a medical tax to cover it. I dont know what the answer is really, as a solution. My oldest sister turned 65 & got Medicare, but had already cut her hours (due t health issues), which meant she's no longer a full time employee with insurance benefits. So she's trying to find affordable supplemental coverage for hospital care & meds & such. And with my other sister's death, she & our brother's household expenses just went up (the 3 siblings lived together and split all costs 1/3). They dont know what they're going to do but they're looking for a cheaper place to move to. We really need a major overhaul of medical care costs and provision to all!
