Apr 30, 2015 2:06 PM

I was told I have RLS, with Fibromyalgia along with Central Sleep Apnea,

Caseyann, I have fibro and RLS also. I'm almost always moving my feet and/or legs, day and night. I've done so since I was a child.

Bananas and quinine water for RLS. Have you tried those?

Apr 30, 2015 8:45 PM

My doctor had to put me on seizure medication due to the severity of my RLS. I've tried bananas, but not quinine water, I'll ask my doctor what he thinks.

Lymie, where do you buy quinine water?

I have RLS with my fibro as well. My Dr put me on ropinirole to be taken before bed to help. Which it seems to help with the twitching and/or kicking at night but I still can't sleep cause of pain and other issues.

I have the Fibro, RLS, and a disordered sleep pattern, I sleep for one hour and then for whatever reason I get up, I have little to no memory of these events. I am still trying to pin down exactly what this RLS is I am moving my legs ALL the time day or night, walking of course, but while sitting down I am always jiggly, moving my feet or my toes! Is this RLS or not????

RLS is *supposedly* something that happens mostly at night... But whenever I am completely relaxed I start having tremors all over - arms, legs, neck... heck, even my waste! If I am standing or lying down I will start bending at the waste for no reason and I can't control it. Like I said, this only happens if my body gets relaxed.... which means I can never be totally relaxed because I am either staying tense so I won't experience this, or I do relax my muscles and they start going wild - meaning I am no longer relaxed. This is especially annoying when I am trying to sleep.

I feel your pain there Casey! And I wish I knew what it was and how to stop it!!!

I also have RLS with fibro. The Dr that diagnosed it put me on ropinirole taken at night. He told me it supposedly effects people more at night, but I have been asked by other Drs if I feel like I have to move my legs/feet all the time. So by the questions I believe it has to do with jittery legs in general but they try to treat more for night time to help you sleep. Hope that helped a little.

Quinine water/tonic water is often found with the seltzer water and ginger ale or mixers that sort of thing.

Casey Ann 1961 Sometimes chronic pain can seem to be so overwhelming . Try to find some kind of Hobbie that you can do, I know myself that I used to do needlework but I can't anymore because my fingers have osteoarthritis in the joints. I have found some gloves at Bed Bath and Beyond that are supposed to help with that. I intend to get me a pair and find out will let everyone know if they work. Only $9.99, I also read a lot on my Kindle app on my tablet.,
