Rough week, still don't feel much like being social

Nov 09, 2015 9:37 PM

Last Thursday Rick had an appointment and I went with him like I always do. When we got back in the Jeep the door swung shut onto my right knee. It hurt like the very dickens, but I refused to go to the hospital. We have appointments tomorrow with pain management and I plan on having her look at it. The pain has been getting steadily worse and tonight I am in agony. I am hoping I haven't done something really bad to it. I have been hurting so much tjat I haven't even been reading everyone's posts. I just don't want anyone to think I disappeared. I'm still around, just not very social right now,

Praying for you ScaryAnn, I pray it's nothing serious. Sending soft hugs🙏💕💕

Scaryann, I am sorry that happened to you. What an absolute nightmare!! I hope that when you go to pain management they are able to tell you what type of injury you sustained and that they are able to make you more comfortable. Sending gentle {{{Hugs}}}, prayers and healing wishes your way. 🌻🙏🏻

Got x-rays done, now I have to wait to see if they show anything. I used my crutches everywhere we went, it doesn't seem to have helped much. Lying in bed now hoping it lets up soon. Thanks everyone, I'll let you know what I find out, as soon as I find out. :-)

Still haven't heard back on x-ray, but I'm pretty sure I heard and felt my kneecap go back in place last evening. While it feels much better, it still hurts more than I want it to. I actually broke down and cried today because I just couldn't take it any more.

Today was one of those days that I don't think anyone believed that it still hurt except myself. It's almost like everyone around me belive that the pain would magically disappear because my kneecap went back in place. I wish it would!

My arm pits are more black and blue from the crutches than my leg is from the car door. LOL I had to laugh tonight when I looked at them. I hope I sleep better tonight than I did last night.

That's good that it went back in place. But if there are ligament & tension issues then it may not stay in place. Anyone who's ever had a knew issue knows the pain doesn't simply disappear. Wishing you a better day & night through the weekend. 🙏🌼

Finally gave in and went the the doctor. I had an MRI on Saturday morning. Got the results today... I have a torn medial meniscus in my right knee. When our Jeep takes a bite out of you, it really takes a bite. Doctor did a cortisone shot today and said if it's not better in two weeks we will be scheduling surgery. Right at the moment, it's back to hurting as bad as it did the day it happened. I'm ready for the pain to end!!! Or at least calm back down to "normal" levels. Merry Christmas everyone!

Scaryann, try moving your knees occasionally for the next 24 hours. My doc said not moving after a cortisone shot is what causes stiffness & pain increase. Also use ice if you can tolerate it. I've done this and it really works. (((Hugs))) & a prayer you won't need surgery. 🙏🌼

Thanks for the heads up Flappys, as I can't tolerate it in any one position more than ten mins I'm hoping to avoid the stiffness from that. :-) The part that sucks the most though is the racing heart and hot flashes. And if this one is anything like the one in the SI joint I know I'm gonna be awake around 1 or 2 am with a panic attack. But if it keeps the scalpel away it will be worth it.

Yes, those side effects are really bad. I've started awake 48 hours before and it's hard to function mentally but the third day. Just know I'm praying for you! 🙂🙏🌼
