Running a Fever

Apr 25, 2015 11:16 AM

Well yesterday I was running a fever of 101.9 and it kept increasing I had a really bad headache to the point it hurt when I coughed. I have been in and out the hospital and doctor since August of 2014. My episodes were so bad when I have them I can't move my arms and legs untill my headaches were over. They last for 10-15 minutes every day. I have been very weak lately so tired and I lost my appetite everything just doesn't taste right anymore. I am only 15 and this has been interferring with my life. My neck has been kinda stiff and my back has been hurting me so badly. I went to the neurologist everything came back normal. My blood pressure was higher then usual 145/90 but besides that everything was normal. My x-rays besides a slight curvage of my spine everything was normal. I have been to 7 different doctors and they all told me the same except 3. I can't take this anymore honestly.

Taeya15 Sugar I hate to here what you are so young to be living like this. Has your parents taken you to a children's hospital yet? What are they saying about all of your pain and fever? It is so hard to live with pain all of the time when your my age 59, I have a hard time dealing with it sometimes. That's why I come here for support, everyone here a great people and will talk to you any time you need them too. Will keep you in my prayers.

Taeya, Have they checked you for mononucleosis or Epstein Barr virus? What you described above sounds just like when I was sick with mono at 18. I was sick nearly three months. My two nephews got it when they were between 15 & 18, both being hospitalized. If it is mono (which comes from Epstein Barr) the most important two things is hydration and rest! Use soup broth to hydrate, as well as electrolyte replenishment so you don't get too weak.

I know its hard being sick, especially so yriends & family and tell tjem how youre foung. But turn to feeling emotionally. And you know were all here for you. When any one of us is down the rest on here are our support & lifeline. Praying for you! 🙏🌼

Oops... especially so young. Talk to your friends & family and tell them how you're feeling emotionally. But turn to this community too. And you know... (Have no idea how all that got jumbled)

Have you been tested for Lyme? It is a possibility. I run low grade Temps when my RA flares up. Have you been tested for lupus? A slight curve in your spine should not be causing this much pain. Some neck pain maybe depending on your posture and where your curve is. The fact that you have seen so many doctors makes me hope someone made sure you do not have meningitis. That is nothing to play with kids die from that. I am not trying to scare you. I am so sorry that you are dealing with all of this and you are so young. Hopefully there is really a good chance that how your life is going to stay. Many of us here could be your Mom or Dad.The elevated blood pressure is probably because you hurt. I would push my parents to take me to either a children's hospital or large teaching hospital. Make sure you have a copy of every test result you may need it later. Emotionally, you can vent here even whine we all really care and we vent and whine too when we need to get it out. Please keep us updated. Keep your head up and believe they will figure it all out soon. We can all learn by sharing knowledge and life experiences. *If you would like to talk more about your back curve in detail just start another thread and you will get just (I am one) the scoliosis people.
