Sacroiliac pain

May 10, 2014 11:22 AM

is there anyone out there who suffers from this? I have had one side fused together but unfortunately now need my right side done as the pain has got worse on this side but I must say the left side which was operated on is better so it was worth having done.

When you say 'fused together' could you give more info? Your spine? I am glad it helped the left side!

no I had my sacroiliac joint fused on the left side, they put three titanium pins through the joint using the Ifuse method which you can find online if you wanted more info

Did not realize they did that. Hope things work out OK. Will explore it online!

I've never heard of anyone having their SI joint fused. You must have had a severe case and that sounds terrible.

I suffered from what the Osteopath described as a "dislocated SI joint" several years ago. He manipulated it back into place with a massive tug on my leg when I wasn't expecting it, amongst other treatments. That tug on the leg was one of the most painful experiences of my life and I screamed loudly but within a week I was walking again and the suicidal type pain I was suffering from was a fair amount less after that treatment.

SI joint pain is debilitating and I sympathize with you if your are suffering that bad all the time. I have had success with a drug called Lyrica to help manage my chronic pain, plus a combination of other drugs that unfortunately are additive.

I would recommend using a Osteopath instead of a Chiropractor but finding a good Osteopath is difficult and expensive, like $120/hr. But if you can find one I recommend trying one.

let us know how the fusing of the SI joint goes as I too suffer from SI joint problems. At one time they said my SI joint was dislocated and wow that was extremely painful. Its amazing how small a movement that joint has anything that goes wrong with that joint causes extreme pain

I can recommend having it done as my left side is totally pain free. I agree it's unbelievable the pain you get from the joint and the problem is whatever you do aggravates it, walking, sitting or standing! good luck.
