Saddness and unneeded stress

Nov 04, 2016 4:56 PM

This problem is so small and insignificant in the bigger picture but it's making me sad and stressing me out big time. I can't get my car out of park.
It started with my traction control and abs brakes warning lights coming on Tuesday on my way home from work. Then when i started the car again Wednesday it was fine. Thursday on the way to work and going back home the lights turned on. Never when the car started but sometime on my drive, usually when stopped at a light. This morning i picked up my boyfriend and then dropped him off at the place where he was getting winter tires because he didn't want to wait and the light came on after the car had been running a few minutes each time. Then when I went to go to work today i couldn't get the car out of park and the lights would come on in less than a minute but after all the startup tests passed. The boyfriend managed to get it out of the garage and onto the driveway but we couldn't get it moving after that. He was nice enough to drive me to work. so somehow i have to get it moving tomorrow morning first thing so that i can get it to the shop and talk to someone. Im supposed to have 'date night' at the greenhouse for a herb garden class tomorrow which depending on how long it takes me to get the car moving or the tow truck if i can't get it moving we might not make the class. Hopefully i don't get called out tonight, I'll have to steal the boyfriends car if i do. And i have no idea how I'm going to get to and from work on the weekend, the bus doesn't go to the airport. Or how I'll get to acupuncture on Tuesday, i could probably find a bus for that one but with my sensitivities I'm terrified of public transportation and cabs are worse than busses here. Hopefully they can fix it soon and i won't have to rent a car to go to work next week. but when i called about the lights on my dash the soonest they could get me in was the 22nd so i don't know if they'll even look at my car before then. Stress! luckily one of the guys at work is willing to drive me home tonight.
Stupid car has left me stranded every fall for the last 3 years now, and it will be 7 years old in December.

Car trouble is very stressful. I've had thst issue with my truck. Twice actually. First time it was simply a stick had gotten stuck under the truck and blocked the gears. The second time it was the belt inside the dashboard had slipped.

Nov 04, 2016 7:41 PM

Well work is giving me one of the trucks for the weekend, which is a huge help since I'm on call and have no safe way of getting to work.
I just have to return it Monday morning, which means trying to bum a ride home from someone or walking the 15km home

Gotobef having car trouble really is not small and insignificant. I know for a fact if my car stopped I would be stranded. I'M not a far walk from the little corner shops but the main supermarkets are a distance away.....maybe not as far as people think but when you suffer with bad anxiety and vertigo it's a he'll of a long way.
I hope the car can be fixed quickly for you

Sending you { { { BIG GENTLE LOVING HUGS } } } XX

Having your means of transportation unavailable is not insignificant. I think in the situations we deal with and all the appointments we need to attend and chores and errands to run, it's a giant pain in the ass if your vehicle is not running. I hope it gets sorted quickly. Try not to stress too much as it will drive your pain levels up. Sending well wishes, gentle {{{Hugs}} and positive vibes your way!!๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh no... do I have to give Keith a spanking?!?! He must have done it when I was napping.. I'll have to keep better tabs on him and change my password... LMAO!!! ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ˜‰

Got the car to the dealership. Thankfully it didn't give me problems right away this morning. They will look at it Monday. She thinks maybe some sort of break sensor is going and that while the manual breaks work is not electronically recognizing that i have the break depressed so the safety switch to get it into gear is saying nope. Hopefully they are able to fix it early in the week so I don't have to rent a car.

Nov 05, 2016 2:18 PM

Hopefully it's an easy fix that isn't too expensive. Try not to stress over it too much now, you've got it to the garage and they will fix it.

Did you get to have your "date time" I bet it was interesting xx

Nov 05, 2016 2:25 PM

Kinda hard to see since it's back lit but the top row is from the herb garden class. We made it! We were late because it took forever to get tea at starbucks but oh well.
Red pot was super on sale in clearance so we got it. it's got ginger mint in it. the square pot that i got last week has sage, rosemary, garlic chives, Italian parsley and lemongrass (boyfriend wanted lemongrass). the white one my brother didn't want has basil. that's all from today. I already had oregano and thyme that i started from seed in the spring.

Nov 05, 2016 2:28 PM

And i had to get myself a fun plant, not just functional ones. this little guy is coming to work with me. I'm hoping having a plant at my desk will help me with my low moods.

Nov 05, 2016 2:29 PM

Is this picture better?

Nov 05, 2016 2:30 PM

I'll try to take a better pic before i go to work

Nov 05, 2016 3:24 PM

Ginger mint

Do you find have plants indoors helps?
You'll soon have a wide range of herbs to cook with soon!
I love the succulent you're taking to work with you. I love succulents and have a few. My most favourite is the mother-in-laws tongue or snake plant as it's sometimes called, great for the bedroom as it produces oxygen at night! My bigger one is the picture

Nov 05, 2016 3:34 PM

This is my jade plant or money plant is its other name. A lady gave me a clipping from her one which is still going strong after 45 years!!!
The clipping was only about 2 inches big when I got it 6 or 7 months ago!

Nov 05, 2016 3:38 PM

This one I've been grow for about 3 months and transferred it to this over sized brandy glass a few weeks ago. It's for a lady who has helped me with things since I've come out of the refuge with furniture donations and bits and pieces. I wanted something that I love but also easy to take care of to show my appreciation for what she's done for us xx

Nov 05, 2016 4:35 PM

I love your herbs ... This little beauty was gifted to me .. curry leaf plant. One of my all time herbs for Indian cooking !!!
Omg I do love your work truck you can always find it! Fingers crossed they resolve your car's issue so you will have reliable vehicle for winter!!! Fyi I'd be so stressed if my car was not starting.

Nov 05, 2016 4:57 PM

I find having plants helps with my mood. I'm running out of space for them

Nov 05, 2016 5:01 PM

This one is too tall for anywhere but the top shelf so it gets a grow light by the front door

Nov 05, 2016 5:02 PM

I love your plants.....I seem to struggle with the normal flowering house plants but orchids, succulents and cacti are easy to keep and it doesn't matter if I forget to water them for a week or two!!! lol greenfingered up to a point!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nov 05, 2016 5:02 PM

This one is supposed to be an air purifier. It gets that light because that light is variable and it's not a bright light plant

Nov 05, 2016 5:06 PM

Ive never been able to do indoor plants before. But I'm finding the more i have the more likely i am to check them. Potted plants outside also a no go. Has to be in the ground. My roses are looking a little rough. I've killed many cactus. All my plants except the roses and herbs are out of the tropicals section

Nov 05, 2016 6:08 PM

Fyi home depot may still have 1 year warranty on tropical plants .. not sure if you have home depot out west...

Nov 05, 2016 6:24 PM

We got home depot. I bought most at ikea. some at the greenhouse. the roses are from home depot.

Nov 06, 2016 6:19 PM

Gotobef, I hope you're vehicle problems are simple. It's good you have the work truck. I love all the plants! And I'm super jealous. I love plants but have such a black thumb I can't even get an air plant to grow! Lol Hugs love and prayers everything works out well on the auto repairs! ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒธ

Nov 06, 2016 6:27 PM

Flappsy... LMAO!!!! You can't get an air plant to grow?? Now that's pretty bad.. I bet you really could. ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’•

Nov 06, 2016 6:30 PM

Air plants like a certain humidity. I'll never get one because it's way to dry where i am.
I never was able to grow things indoors until we moved, everything would always die. i think i have better lighting now, and i bought grow lights for the plans that don't fit by the west windows

Nov 06, 2016 8:00 PM

Flappys you have just made me actually laugh out loud with that!!!
Try to grow succulents or cacti, they are easy to grow as long as you don't over water them!!!
Thank you for the laugh I needed that ๐Ÿ˜‰ xx
