Scared and worried

Dec 22, 2016 3:59 AM

Last night was terrible in more than one way.
We had a family emergency and I had to drive after taking my meds 😮😮. It was dark, throwing it down with rain and blowing a gale. I felt so anxious especially as I was going somewhere I didn't know, my other half was supposed to be navigating me and we ended up getting lost, by the time we got there I was in a real state.
I felt that my vision was affected, I struggled when cars were coming towards me, I couldn't see the road properly and the markings were virtually invisible.
It was the same coming home. I have made a decision from now on under no circumstances will I drive in that condition or those conditions ever again.
Has anyone else had the same or felt the same?

I have trouble with night vision too.. If I have to drive at night then I look to the opposite side when a car approaches. Not a perfect solution but it helps. Also if a cars behind me I adjust my rearview mirror. There are some shaded OTC you can get to help. Like the glasses for snowmobiles.

((hugs)) glad you are home safe and hope the emergency was one with an easy solution.

I have trouble with night driving from the glare and especially if it's raining. I'm glad you made it there and back safely. I never take my meds if I know I have to go somewhere. They don't do anything to me so it's to my own detriment and I end up in withdrawal all the time. Do yourself a favor and just let your hubby know that he has to drive IF you have to go out in that situation ever again.

It stresses me out also to drive under those conditions since my accident in 2014, it also causes my pain to increase. I also get panic attacks when I am setting at a traffick light with oncoming traffic because it feels like my car is in motion so I have to focus on something still

I avoid driving after dark due to night blindness. But once I take my meds is never get behind the wheel, as my response is very much delayed. I'm glad you were able to safely make it back home. Could you get someone else to drive next time?
