I enjoy yoga 2 years ago but had to stop due to broken toes on both feet. I'm trying to start again but I have failed with my follow through due to health issues. That and I'm a bit scared of the back pain from Spondylolisthesis. Does anyone know just how modified yoga can be and still be affective? I use my Wii Yoga.
Yoga can be hugely modified. It all depends on your abilities and the muscle group being targeted. I don't think the wii yoga will have the proper modifications in its programming. I recommend, if you can afford it, finding an instructor to do some one on one work and help you find the mods that work best for you and your condition. Then, when doing it at home, you can apply those mods properly and get the benefits without causing damage.
Terretbandit- I'm at the pain threshold now. Been dealing with it more so for the last few years. Wii fitness for the Wii counsel is awesome. I'm just hoping that I can modify the stretches so I can get a benefiting stretch and not pain due to Disk issues and SI issues. Toes are kinda better but hopefully I won't need to use my toes much if I can do certain stretches. (:)
MrsH, I just found a Chair Yoga & Chair Pilate's videos on Amazon. I've never done either one. They're geared for elderly or those with physical limitations like me. I'm 53 but can't do any type of floor exercises. I'm drastically losing my strength and muscle tone in my arms and legs. I wanted to try something gentle and modified. Maybe you would like to check those out. They use various bands for some. Good luck & hope you find something. 🙏🌼
