My mom is thinking about getting SCS, is this a good idea? Anyone have experience with it? She has shooting pain down her leg and has been dealing with it for over a year. I think this is a good treatment for this kind of pain but I'm not positive. Any support you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Absolutely. I have a SCS implant from Boston Scientific - one of the new ones.

It brought my pain down from an 8 to a 4. The surgery is safe and the treatment has come a long way from when others on this site received it.

Fill out this form and they will contact you. Let them know you are using this tracking app - they will listen https://www.controlyourpain.com/chronic-pain/?s=is_scs_for_you

PainPirate1, you have to realize that depending on what the issues are with your Mom and the pain she is experiencing.
Many pain doctors will use the SCS as a last resort after all other treatments have been exhausted and failed. Now, since I had mine implanted, it's possible that things have changed and they may go ahead and do the "trial" which lasts 5-7 days. At that time, if you've achieved significant relief, they may put in the permanent lead. Sending you well wishes, good karma and positive vibes your way. {{{Hugs}}}💕😊

I have one. It helped for the first 2 years. My biggest complaint is not being able to do an MRI. However the newer ones have fixed that problem...

I have a question about the SCS. My doctors thinking about putting me on it because I do have issues lower back. But I'm worried that it may make my fibro flare. Anybody have this SCS and fibro?
