Severe knee pain!!! Help!

Aug 13, 2016 5:01 PM

My knees feel like they are about to break when I stand up on them. Or going from a sitting position to a standing one. Even when I'm sleep if I bend them too much I wake up immediately in pain. Some of you already know that I can't go to pain management cause of insurance. So I don't have anything for pain at all. The only times I get pain medicine is when one of my aunts gives me some of hers to help me out. I do know I'm allergic to hydrocodone. But all the rest I'm ok with. It doesn't matter because I can't get any help right now. Now I am on plaquenil for Sjögren's syndrome, synthroid for hypothyroidism, and seroquel for anxiety. Oh let me not forget Prilosec for acid reflux. I have so many more health issues like my knees that I can't get help with right now. If I was back home in Philadelphia, I would have insurance. But not here in this state of North Carolina. They want you to be dying before they help and it's the truth. They have turned down people with cancer. I'm not going to get started on this state cause I will stress out and cause a flair.

Also Cymbalta for my anxiety and fibromyalgia pain too.

Painedlady, you should talk to your rheumatologist about the knee pain. According to what several of my doctor's have told me, sjogrens can affect the joints (I have it in my finger joints). Another possibility is if you have fluid in the knee it's very painful. If you press the areas around your knee are they squishy or puffy? Have you tried putting warm moist epsom salts soaked towels or clothes around the joints (if you can't get in/out of a tub.)? I wish I knew other ways to help but my mind is drawing a blank right now. Hugs love & prayers you get some relief soon! 🙂💕🙏🌸

::>_<:: insurance is a nightmare!
Weight control is never suggested by drs but, if you suddenly gain a couple lbs, guess where you will feel it most? Your knees and back. The meds are filled with toxins so if u can minimize the amount of irritants going into your body from your food you will feel a little better.
Fibro irritants may include: dairy, caffeine, nightshade veggies, salty food, pickled foods, processed foods, alcohol, gluten, sugary foods
Omega-3 helps with arthritis, antioxidant fruits and veggies, walnuts,...kinda helps after a while. Keep your head up miss lady, ask aomeone to get u pain ointments and keep it with you at all times. You can do this o (^‿^✿)o

Thanks you guys because it's so frustrating that every physician I see says I need to go to pain management but I can't because of no insurance. And due to the crackdown of prescription meds, none of the doctors that I am able to see will give me a prescription. So I'm doing vitamins and changes in my diet also. I'm trying to lose this weight that I have gained but it's hard when my knees are killing me.
