I'm gonna third the other two womena statement. I was like mysisterskeeper. I would not use the cart. And I would pass out or f Get very dizzy in the middle of Walmart or any large store. Trust me riding the cart is a lot less embarrassing then busting to face or tail in front of hundred of strangers. And I actually enjoy shopping again. It really is a good idea. If you still r not sure try going when the store is slow and not many people around and I promise you feel so much better and you will be able to get more done in a day.
I wish they had them in the malls... I miss mall shopping! I did find a motorized wheel chair at a yard sale. It needs a battery so I will have to find an inexpensive place to order a replacement. Any one have a good online place that you have had good experience with to get a wheelchair battery?
There are some secondhand medical places online.. let me see... Spinlife has them starting at $110. It's just a small 12 volt, right? Batteriesplus.com lists by scooter brand. Batterystuff.com as well.
You can also rent a scooter from a medical supply store, we did that right before my hip surgery. Hubby was excellent with getting it from the trunk and putting it together and everything, so it might not be the best without someone to help, but it's way better than apending all your spoons on the store!
I don't want to second guess u but most malls have moterizwe chair. I think .at least at mine..you may have to go in at the food court where they have the stroller rentals. I don't know.if there is a charge for them or not but u may want to look into it. As far as batteries so u have a batteries plus or even auto zone or some type of vehicle store may have the battery you r looking for.
I spent the morning shopping for an annual weekend getaway for a group of eight & I am a blithering idiot of pain, but I will not ride a cart at Fred's!! Besides the horror factor, I don't think I could fit everything in that basket. Lol. Dislike grocery shopping & try to do it all at once, one big effort & it is over for a while. I know I should break it down into smaller outings for my wellbeing.
I ride them 99% of the time, unleased were are in a small store or are going after very few items. If I'm walking the full store I can't make it back to the car, so to heck with what others may think... They don't live in my body, and my PCP told me to use them.
