Should I be concerned?

Okay, so about a week ago, I started having this pain in my right hip. I honestly have no idea of when or how it exactly started. I just know that it got really bad to the point of my side going numb and not being able to bear any weight on my right leg. It eased up for a couple days, but then it came back. It seems to gradually get worse as the day goes by, and I end up limping by evening time. But today I couldn't walk on it very well at all and I could only stand for maybe 10-15 at a time. Now like I said, this has only been going on for about a week. It has hurt to walk or stand for very long, and I can't lay on my right side without it hurting me. The pain will also radiate down into my leg, as well as up into my ribs, and it just aches or goes numb/weak. I have Scoliosis, but I don't know if this hip pain is just a product of that or not. I usually know if something is caused by the Scoliosis or not, but I'm not sure about this one. I kind of feel as if it could be something else independent of the Scoliosis. But I don't want to end up spending money on a doctor's visit if it turns out to be nothing. So should I just get by and see if it goes away, or should I consider going to the doctor?

hi, I too have scoliosis and exactly the same pain you are describing in the hip. It has been 7 weeks now and lots of Oxycodon didn't relief the pain. laying on my left side and bringing my right foot into my left knee does relief the pain. until the next day... at the end of the day the pain is back again. I must say, I'm in the 8th week and the pain isn't getting worse anymore, I think it is getting less actually.

God bless, I hope you canget rid of the pain.

I think any new or unexplained pain deserves some investigation. there may be something in your history or labs that may have been overlooked. If you want answers you should get your providers to give them to you.

I agree.. I have gone to rheumatologists, acupuncturist, etc... I have labs done immediately so my doc can check for many things so that if there is something "new", it will be caught early and I won't be told by doctors that it's too late. thanks for your advise

Thanks for all the advice! I will try to set up a doctor's appointment soon!
