Hello, I'm 25 average weight for my 5.6 frame.
Since may I have suffered from muscle knots in my shoulder/back/shoulder blade region....these knots hurt for abit but would go away after couple of days and if not I would get someone to massage them out or least try to.
Since May they have progressively gotten worse, to the point where some days I struggle to get dressed as I can't lift my arm or I can't do my job as a veterinary nurse.
I've started seeing a physio and she said my right shoulder is slightly lower than my left, been given exercises to do at home to help with pain and strength my muscle. The reason my knots won't disappear is because I have weakened the muscle in that area which is why my shoulder is lower than my other, this has been caused from lifting heavy patients at work etc.
I used to lift around 15kgs at work with no issues since the pain has gotten worse and my injury since July I can barely lift 6kg, and I can't handle wriggly patients as I don't have the strength.
I'm on paracetamol 500mg 2 tablets every 4hrs and Dicloflex (diclofenac sodium) 50mg 1 tablet 3 times a day. I used a heat pack when I can at work and a Tens machine.
My physio did the rough approach to me but this caused one of the knots in my neck to get much larger, it went down eventually but I was in so much pain...4 days post physio session.
Since then I've been having gentle approach of acupuncture.
Has anyone got any other tips to help with pain or exercises to help with pain.
Some days the pain is horrific and I could just cry. I'm normally just a bright and happy person but since my injury I have lost my spark completely...really gets me down especially as I'm limited to what I can do plus the pain is exhausting some days 😓
