Tight tension dull aching n locking on the morning when I get up

That's how my pain began 22 years ago. Then it snowballed from there. Don't get discouraged. Try heat and gentle stretching and try NOT to favor the painful area because that always throws off something else. Does the pain ease off as the day goes by? I hope it gets resolved for you and that you have no other pain. There are many of us here to chat with and I'm so glad I found this place because it's been a Godsend for me. Hang around and talk to us when you need help.

Hang in there!! Speak to your doctor about deep tissue massage, Biofeedback, Physical Therapy and/or meditation. I hope one or a combination of two ot make it ease for you. I'll be thinking of you. Prayers coming your way.

Heat and ice are always handy. I have a few gel packs. I could microwave them, but keep them in the freezer because cold works better for me. I'm not sure if it's a distraction or if it actually helps...

Well, either way, less pain is less pain... Feel better and know I'm here if you need me.

Just a thought. Mine also started off in the morning and progressed into bad pain during the pain. Slowly, without me realizing it, i stopped using the arm like I use to and it started to atrophy which made the pain worse. I am sure it would have happened anyway. I end up tearing my rotator cuff. I hadn't realized how much my lack of movement end up making my arthritis progress so bad. So keep what I have learned with physical therapy, if your arm is not injured and it is because of arthritis, is to keep your arm movement up as much as possible. Do all the stretches you can. He gave me these bands you can get online from amazon. You can find it under physical therapy. And he had me use simple light weights like 2 or 3 pounds to keep up muscle tone. He said if I did not want to buy one. I can use a vegatable can. I just thought I would pass along what I learned. But you may wnat to make sure you don't have an injury. Take care

Profiler, does this mean you are ok? We've been worried about you when you went to the ER...

If you don't have a microwavable gel pack, put uncooked rice in a tube sock and seal it with a knot. Then microwave... It works in a pinch!

Hey Profiler.... I'm so relieved to see a post from you. Are you home from the hospital? What did they say about the lumps? Are they lipomas or something else? Hoping you're ok and look forward to chatting with you.

Amy5, if it persists, maybe your dr can order physical therapy for your shoulder. That would help get it moving

Jan 24, 2015 5:10 PM

Physical therapy would definitely help. They know better how to treat stuff like that than a doctor.

That's what she said if it doesn't improve I had to self refer to the physo
