Silly questions about marijuana?

Oct 12, 2016 6:45 PM

So I got my medical marijuana license a couple of weeks ago ..I am vaping but I have no tolerance for THC.. I even got a strain with 0.5 percent THC and I still feel zoned out! It helps with my pain but I can't function at all!! I just lie there all day and this isn't a life either!! Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I just a freak??
I appreciate any feedback !! Hope everyone is having a good day?! πŸ™ƒπŸ’•πŸŒΈπŸ’

You might need to build a tolerance to it. The more you do the less zoned out you will become. It will take time. My suggestion is have a bit of fun by listening to your favorite music with headphones and fall asleep. Once your body gets used to it, you should be functional without feeling "stoned".

You might not need the thc.. its not really the thc that takes away the pain, but everyones different with some people the high takes away the pain. Maybe try some with no thc?

Please also try to get a Sativa strain & let the Bud tender know why you're using Cannabis, to help with pain from a migraine or back pain. A knowledgeable & caring Bud tender wants you to benefit from the medicine & they want to know if what you tried helped or not, there are so many other strains you can try for what you need.
There is a possibility you have an Indica (in-da-couch) strain? This strain is very helpful with pain & allowing the patient to relax.
There are Hybrid strains as well that you might find work for you?
I hope you also know that different dispensaries have different items to try as well, edibles will feel completely different from vaping.
The amount that you're vaping or taking in makes a difference. Keep in mind that 0.5 of Medical Cannabis IS NOT what a recreational user will have.
Please don't think you're different, we all are! πŸ˜‰

Thanks Quietlight that's what the doctor told me that it is like any other medication that my body would need time to adjust its just long ! Before I was on narcotics I couldn't get out of bed and now that I am on marijuana I am back in bed it just feels like I am moving backwards!! McKnight believe it or not there are no strains of marijuana available without THC! But thank you both for your input! Xo

Bugs10 thanks for all your information! Yes I have a sativa strain for daytime and indica for night time! Apparently to change vendors I have to go back to the Cannabis Clinic which is not in my city and the earliest appointment is at the end of November! I spoke to the vendors today who informed me that an oil would be ideal for me but the oil I am inquiring about ( very low THC) is sold out ! I will be making butter tomorrow with my herb and then make peanut butter cookies to try to see if I will tolerate this better until I am able to switch vendors or the oil becomes available! It's just a world I know nothing about and I feel overwhelmed! I was also told so many times that this would really help my pain and this would be the answer so I am discouraged! Thanks again for everything! Xo

My daughter has her medical Marijuana card in Cali and she has had to try many strains so she can function at work and sleep at night. There is also a water for anxiety that she says is amazing. She went through a tough time at first, but then her body got used to it and she can function normally without having to "veg out" per say.

Quiet Light
That's really reassuring!! Thank you for letting me know! There is hope for me! If you know what strains have helped her I would love to know?? Thanks again!

I can ask her. Unfortunately she has to call me when she gets a chance as we have a 3 hr time difference and she works 40+hrs a week then goes home to a toddler and husband. I'll text her though and ask her for you.

Thanks you so much! I really appreciate it !! No rush I am just so happy you would be willing to do that for me! Whenever it's convenient!! I hope you are doing okay??!

Oct 13, 2016 8:34 PM

I just texted her so I will let you know when she gets back to me

For now, try to really calm your mind when on it. Relax, listen to your absolute fav music and instead of panicking, like I did too for a long time, I was told to just be....do what I always do and not care if I stumble my words, wobble, fall asleep etc. Took me a while, but now I can fully function. Before I couldn't hold a conversation without freaking out...lol

Sativa to stay awake but it can cause anxiety. Look for the highest CBD that helps body pain and anxiety. Where thc gets you stoned off your ass.

I usually get hybrids. But anything with high CBD is best. I get indica only for bed time and hybrid for during the day (when I'm off of work)

Cbd water or tables are good. The water has worked the best and it's cheaper than the pills. It's 2-3 Dixie cups per serving. When I take 3 instead of 2 I feel waaaaay better.

Def hybrid with sativa dominant for daytime use or any sativa. The cbd counteracts with the thc so you don't get high off your ass. They recommend actually to have cbd pills near you when you take an edible. In case you take too much and start having a panic attack the cbd helps calm you down cause it balances the thc levels.

Oct 14, 2016 9:55 AM

Basically anything CBD. Indica cbd will knock your ass out. But sativa with cbd is way better to stay awake. I use it all lmao

Oct 14, 2016 9:56 AM

Ditch indica and lower the thc intake. ( my daughter's texts back to me)

Hi Ana, you might want to research the Rick Simpson method. I don't have the info to explain but his products are designed to take a tiny amount daily from a syringe (size of a piece of rice) and build the cbd up over time. I haven't tried yet but hear a lot of positive things. Just a thought. Oh, and tolerance definitely happens with other forms. It worked wonders for me for awhile and still is the best thing yet for my neuropathy pain. But aside from tolerance I get a malar rash and Lupus symptoms if I smoke or even do edibles. Like everything it has its down side and you have to go through some trial and error but hopefully you will find the best delivery method for your system. Good luck!
