I was reading up on my diagnoses of fibro and learned that it is not progressive. I have been on a steady decline since I was 15 or 16 up until now at the age of 21. It all began with symptoms similar to celiac disease but the doctors found nothing. Then it progressed to back pain and spread from there. I was just wondering if anyone had similar symptoms that weren't diagnosed as fibro?

Lucky 13 I have had similar experience. Started with celiac symptoms ultrasound showed gallbladder disease had that surgery then all went downhill. 12 surgeries and DX of Celiac's intersitital cytisis and fibromyalgia I have constant body pain most intensely lower body pain. Being treated with strict diet not just gluten but no dairy red meat store bought meat msg sugar processed yeast ect. Meds xanax and amitriplyne and starting cymbalta tomorrow
I had what I thought was fibromyalgia. It turned out I had an allergy to our birds (bird fanciers lung). Myalgia was one of the symptoms. Now that most of the birds are adopted or moved outside the myalgia has dissapeared. Another lady on a fibromyalgia site discovered her myalgia was due to allergies to molds. I would always suggest checking for allergies after realizing how serious they can be.
I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome. It is often mistaken for fibro. Fibro can also be a co diagnosis. Are you bendy? Do you have digestion problems? Stretchy or soft, velvety, doughy skin? Are you "double jointed" ? If any of this sounds familiar you may want to look into Ehlers Danlos syndrome. There are differs type that have slightly different symptoms. I have type 3.
Lucky13, I'm not certain but I think I read somewhere that fibro usually follows something else or coincides with another issue. Not always, just most of the time.
I noticed my symptoms when (unknown at the time) my body was fighting a very large pelvic mass that adhered to my abdominal organs. It took nearly 3 yr before the mass was found. Now I have many different issues because of it, fibro being only one. My inflammation at that time was very high. It went down for about a year but now its high again.
As muddieprincess and Ross63 mentioned, I also have many allergies. Most are to outdoor plants but now it include many indoor things and wheat, soy & whole grains. I have to be careful what I eat too. I'm only sensitive to gluten but I try to avoid it because of my IBS. Because I'm fighting many autoimmune issues, its causing the high inflammation in my blood work, says my docs.
Have you had an allergy test? I'll keep you in my prayers, and everyone else too. Hope you all have a good day today.🙏🌼
