Mar 17, 2016 5:41 AM

I have trouble getting sleep eg. Last night I didnt get to sleep til 9am in the morning yet i then slept for 12 hours. This happens of tens where I sleep for 12 hours. I think it's depression related for me

Sleep? What's that? How do you do that? Where do I go to get some???

Mar 17, 2016 8:40 AM

I want some too. I'm on day 5 of about 2 hours of sleep a night. And I'm on shift 5 of 6 today. :(

With my bipolar, sometimes, I can sleep for long periods of time and not get up for a couple of days. That is very rare though for me.

Last 2 nights I only got 1/2 hour each night. I'm flat out exhausted. Pain wakes me and if I'm stressed, then I have even more trouble. I hope that you can find a way to get the rest you need. {{Hugs}} 💕🙏🏻🌻

Sleep isn't in my life. Wish it were.

Makes you wish we all took our naps when we were a child. I always joke and tell my child to please send me to my room and make me take a nap. It is a great thought even if I know it will not happen.

Bethann I know what u mean it takes me ages to get to sleep and it's a nightmare but once I do it's so difficult for me to get up! It's the fatigue I could sleep for over 12 hours if I don't have work to go to. I missed this whole day off as I spent it in bed. I have spoke to my doctor and he has upped my antidepressants so I hope they help. I just feel like I have absolutely no energy at all and to top it off my period has started and I am in absolute agony with it again. They are sending me for tests for endometriosis as I'm showing a lot of symptoms. Speak to ur doctor about the sleep issue! don't ignore it xx

I have great trouble sleeping. The other day I finally fell asleep at 9am for 4 hours! The only way I get sleep is by using meditation apps. There are heaps of free ones. There's one for depression anxiety stress confidence all sorts. Ive found the ones that get you to tense each muscle first then relax work the best for me. Goodluck my fellow no sleeper

Beth, yes had that experience today. Laid down at like 2:45, only intended to nap for 2 hours. Actually ended up sleeping for 6 hours and now going back to sleep. My headache and not sleeping the night before didn't help matters at all.

I'm on this cycle, 3 or 4 days no sleep then 3 or 4 days I sleep constantly, I would love to get on a cycle where I sleep during thing the night and am awake during the daylight but that's not always how it goes. Thanks for your input.

Uh, well, lately it's been sleeping too much and waking up in pain 2-3 times a night. 9 hours or more is about the average for me but I'm still pretty tired throughout the day.

But hey, maybe it's because I can't get to sleep until 8 am most of the time lol. Night owl since birth, I swear.

Lynxbun- same for me. And the problem was that I would sleep through pain doses & wake up to a body that could barely move. Finally the docs put me on OxyContins which are long lasting. Phew!

Mar 19, 2016 4:39 AM

What is OxyContin please I haven't heard of that 🙄

Mar 19, 2016 6:12 AM

Ah yes, sleep. Ever elusive with its dreamlike qualities...
Actually I can fall asleep very quickly a lot of the time. Some nights it takes a very long time though. It varies considerably day to day but it's always disturbed sleep. I started using a sleep tracker to see how much or little sleep I actually get. It's quite frightening to see how much my sleep is disturbed and how little deep sleep I achieve. Which is why I rarely dream.
I have a fairly consistent 3-4 hours that are okish then things go downhill. I dread to think how bad it'd be without the pills!

OxyContin is a semi-synthetic opioid similar to morphine, OxyContin is the brand name oxycodone is the active ingredient.

I don't use the Oxy's to sleep, been taking them so long that side effect is gone. Sleep is one thing I look forward to at night but like most nights I don't get that date. Then there are some days and nights where that's all I do is sleep. It's a never ending cycle, it's like I always say, "Stop the world I wanna get off."

Only when sick with a virus or flu, or recuperating from surgery on pain meds. Rare!
