Sleep study tonight

Jan 12, 2016 6:56 PM

I can't believe I'm actually getting anxious so a sleep study. I know its just wires and observations but I'm still getting nervous I suppose I'm just nervous since I sometimes have blood sugar drops. During the night I don't want anything to happen to get me admitted or something. Plus its really cold and I don't want too have to make a long walk with my bags . my leg has been acting up today not wanting to move and what not. As I'm typing this I'm fel like I'm just being a cry baby. I know its just a test it just observation..I just hope everything goes well and I don't have to go for the second day .

Jan 13, 2016 7:24 AM

I survived.. Lol.. They tried to bore me to sleep they turned the TV off at 11 and the WiFi off at 1 am so I had no choice but to nap a little.maybe an hour if that. I'll know in a few hours if I have come back for a second night

Jan 13, 2016 9:17 AM

Lol sounds like me putting my son to bed!

Jan 13, 2016 10:36 AM

Newfibrogirl you are certainly NOT a crybaby!! You're simply worrying about things that could go wrong and you don't want to have to stay there. I completely understand. I get totally unnerved when I go to pain management and I know they are just going to do a urine test (which is always the same), take my BP, twist me like a pretzel until I cry and then write my prescriptions. Can't imagine why id get nervous about that!!! Try to relax, wear sow thing toasty and cozy when you go and it will all work out. I'll be thinking about you and if you get nervous, just reach out and I'll hold your hand. {{{Hugs}}} 💕🙏🏻🌻

Jan 13, 2016 11:15 AM

Thanks alwayz...they must not wanted me to be able to call for help ..they cut the tv off at 11 and the WiFi at 1am..lol and I was doing fine but the. Found I had some cause for worry because they had one person code last night... Of course I was awake and listening to all the excitement.. Although the staff was amazingly quite. Ha..

Jan 13, 2016 11:16 AM

I've been through a couple of different sleep studies. I've suffered from irregular sleep patterns forever. Even as a baby is sleep through the day and be up all night. My circadian rhythm has always been a mess. The first one I had was because of insomnia. I fried their computer when they plugged me in lol.... (I also can't wear a watch and electronics are always funny around me. They just unplugged me and let me crash and come back to redo it. The second time they hooked the computer up first and plugged me in one at a time lol. No sleep apnea but they said I never slept quietly. I mumbled, talked, snored, fought, and shifted all night long. Then when all this pain stuff started they sent me for another study. This time they had a newer system for plugging you in. It was all done one at a time instead of hooking all these words up to your head and then plugging them in. Lol guess I wasn't the only one to fry the computer lol. This one they said I never entered REM sleep. I was having really bad insomnia all the time and when I did sleep I wasn't sleeping deep enough. Now is much better. I wasn't overly fond of being watched while I sleep.... anyone else find it a bit creepy?? LMAO

Jan 13, 2016 8:28 PM

Yes
.that is very hard to ignore and then when they start talking to u over the speaker.is supper weird.

Jan 13, 2016 10:30 PM

Oh lord yes! I am a very hard person to wake and then they tell you over the speaker that it's time to wake up! Lol!! Good Luck! I'll be praying for you!!

Jan 14, 2016 6:51 AM

Fibro also has the same effect that you don't achieve REM sleep. You sleep very lightly and wake often if you fall asleep at all. Sometimes I fall asleep in the afternoon (late) and wake thinking it's the next morning. Nope, only like a half hour to an hour later. I don't have apnea and don't snore. I do moan and whine in pain in my sleep. I turned on the app on my phone that measures your heart rate and you're level of sleep and also had the mic on to record myself and my breathing was always steady and rhythmically sound but the graphs showed that I was barely asleep and that I would wake anywhere from 20-45 times during the night. Hope that your test goes well and you can finally either get the cpap or not and start getting better sleep. Sending gentle {{{{Hugs}}}} and prayers that today is a better day!!💕🙏🏻🌻

Jan 14, 2016 7:17 AM

I didntvknow that alwayz i always wonder if I ever achieve rem I wake from every little noise and if there is a lil drop of light forget it

Jan 14, 2016 7:28 AM

Yup, recently read an article about Fibro that said like RSD, people who suffer with Fibro usually do not achieve REM sleep. That is what we ALL need because that's the restorative sleep that helps rejuvenate us for the next day. You can get there but for some it's near impossible. It really does suck but at least we have each other to chat with when we can't sleep.. {{Hugs}} 💕🙏🏻🌻
