Sleepies

How much sleep do you guys manage on a night? When you can't sleep, what do you do?
I have interrupted/hardly any sleep most nights. I try to find people to talk to online.

Well from what I hear there is a group meeting up on fb... I normally just find a good show on TV or I have friends I text or my boyfriend.. I'm blessed since the last few night I've been sleeping more solid. Sti going down late and waking up in pain. But at least it's more solid.

I'm glad you're managing sleep Newfibrogirl as sleep is what we need to fight this illness.

I only average about 3 hours at the most...that's a good night, I have to be repositioned every 45m-hour because of being a quad, then there's the constant spasms I get, I've been struggling with Autonomic Disreflexia recently,in spinal cord injury in the cervical spine we often have trouble regulating blood pressure, it can be something as simple as a blocked catheter, but can potentially be life threatening.... Which is annoying sometimes, my Carers will normally just get me in a tilted position so my blood pressure starts to drop, then go through the checklist to find the route cause

Calia, on a "good" night I get about 3 hours totally scattered through the night. When I get sick, I tend to drift in and out all day and night for about 15 minutes here and there. Sleep is not my friend any more!! 😢

I generally have broken sleep but the past couple of days I've been popping Unisom at night with my Trazedone and hydrocodone and buspirone and duloxetine. I also like a drugged out monkey. I can't take the hysteria and anxiety that comes with no sleep. I've got way too much to stress about during the day with fibro fog and my full plate to be nodding off because my body is an asshole. I'm probably not supposed to mix them, I feel very off when I first wake up, but if I thought cutting my throat a little every night would make me get the sleep I need, I don't think I'd think twice. I'm at that point where if I don't wake up.... Maybe that's for the best. Not gonna try for it, but my giveadamn is broken.

Sleep like a drugged out monkey. I know it sounded like a random preference that I just popped in there.... LMAO "Oh, and as well as Cheerios, I also like a drugged out monkey once in a while."... It was supposed to say sleep not also LMAO

Newfibrogirl- I'm on Tramadol & Gabapentin. I'm not sure whether they count as helping me to sleep. If the pain continues then my doctor can increase the Gabapentin.

Feb 04, 2016 11:59 AM

I'm on tramadol too I'm also on nortyphidone for sleep and pain at night but it only works on regular pain days. If is storming or super cold I might as well have all the girls over for a slumber party cuz I'm not sleeping..

Same here.. Actually fell asleep exhausted today from all the insomnia. Have been just drifting in and out since 11 this morning and I'm still tired. Think I'll get more shuteye. Then I'll be up all night again.. LOL!! Oh well, see y'all in the 36 Long club!! 💕🙏🏻🌻

Should I bring the drugged out monkey with me to entertain the chickens and tambourine wielding cat?

Feb 04, 2016 8:24 PM

Some nights I'm lucky enough to get 5 hours uninterrupted. Then others nights I'm up every 2 hours to pee or get comfortable. Then there are the completely insomnia nights, thankfully not too often. 🙂🙏💕🌼

On a good night, 5-6 hours unbroken sleep without anything to knock my ass out. On a bad night, typically 4-5 hours broken sleep(I.e. Might go down at 1:30 am and up at 5 with pain). I usually require a nap 4 out of 7 days per week maybe.

I had a broken night again last as felt sick and ached. Rib cage, shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles hurt today 😞

Feb 07, 2016 11:30 AM

😞 I just watch TV, always got back up films saved on tivo. I had bad night too. Didn't get to sleep until 3this morning. Cramping and seizing, brain and heart going a mile a minute, wasn't too happy all day with the fog... And now it's nearly bedtime again. Oh no.

Same here.. Was out all day as my 86 year old Dad couldn't get out of the house with his walker.. Too much ice. So guess who did the grocery shopping!! (3 stores worth) and got home at like 4:15 in the afternoon. Then I pulled out my back at the last store and today it really hurts. Not to mention that today I have a bad belly, the runs and nausea. I'm feeling like general shit. My lungs are also still bothering me. Have very dry mouth/throat and I've been hacking up globs of gross crap (sorry, graphic and tmi). I have to be up early in the morning to shower and take my Father to the cardiologist (my sister won't take him. I also have to take him this week to get his kidney sonogram, back to the pcp for his follow up AND take my Mom to the eye doctor because she has some sort of pus bubble or nodule inside her lower eyelid. The eye itches her and also is tearing a lot and also had that stringy mucus. Then have to take my Dad to the VA to get his hearing aids and also have his feet taken care of. I am so tired and hurting from yesterday and feeling so ill, I have no idea how I'm going to do all of this. It's exhausting to say the least. At the very least, I can lay my head down or look in the mirror and know that I did what was necessary. Sorry for being a bit of a Debi Downer today. I think I just need rest. Hope all my "peeps" are having a peaceful and light pain day. {{{Hugs}}} and prayers to you all. 💕🙏🏻🌻
