When I open CatchMyPain on my laptop it is now taking several minutes to what I am assuming is the history of all the files. I am a heavy user of this app and put in 2 to 4 entries a day for several months now so I am assuming the data file is getting large and why it takes so long to open the app.
Does anyone else have this issue and is there a way of archiving some records so that I don't have to work with such large files?
It takes me a whole day to enter the pain on the body. Maybe they aren't prepared for the number of users. My rheumy didn't care about looking at it anyways, so all the pain and annoyance of getting it entered was kind of pointless. I was so excited about showing her, now I'm frustrated and discouraged.
Hello and thanks for pointing out those issues. Let me explain shortly: We are aware that our application struggles (mainly on iOS) when there are above 200 pain entries. This is due to the fact, that we want the application to also work while being offline. Therefore we save all data also on your device locally. The used technique for this has some limitations in size (50 MB on iOS) and upon reaching the limit we need to free up space. To address this issue is not that easy and it needs much restructuring and time as well as costs... What works for most users is to use the desktop application through http://my.catchmypain.com . We will think about an archiving feature to keep pain entries, but not have them on the device anylonger.
Concerning the amount of users I can promise that we are well prepared for many more of you. Our servers run in the cloud and can scale when needed. As CatchMyPain is used globally the load spreads over the whole day and we don't have much spikes or bottlenecks.

Hi Roman, I am finding that occasionally when I get an alert and log in to view posts the screen opens onto a blank home page, the menu bar is on the left but the screen is just blank, white, I can't move off it and I can't get it to take me to any other options as when I press them it doesn't change, if I come back later it is often still the same, I can see it's updating as today the number of new posts increased yet it took nearly eight hours for this to unfreeze and the option to load and sync normally, this is a bit frustrating, not sure if it's my iPad or the program. It's happened four times in the last week. Hope that can help identify the issue and if it's mine or not? Thanks for your help
Hello There should of course not be a single point where the app needs more than 1 minute to do something (and only synchronizing big amount of data should take that long). So if you encounter white screen or other problems, it might help to "kill" the app, so really closing it and start it again.
