So scared in the hospital

Feb 16, 2016 12:01 AM

I have been admitted and I have so much anxiety because when they came to get me to take me to my room, I liked to fell out on what unit I'm on. I am on the HEART AND VASCULAR UNIT, I have a heart monitor attached to me. They finally gave me pain meds, first it was 2 percocets and that didn't work so now they gave me diluaid thru my IV. Even though I hate this hospital and it's the only one we have here, this unit is great so far. I have my own private room which is beautiful and the nursing staff is awesome so far. And they loved me because I keep a book of all and any medical information that is needed from all my doctors to all surgeries and medical problems and a list of all medicines their dosage and how many down to when I take them. The nurse was like see I love patients like you and instead of her having to write everything she just made copies. She said not only do you have it wrote down, it's neat and organized. So they are going to be doing slot of tests on my heart. I can't take the plaquenil cause it's the reason I'm sick except for my chest pain but all my other issues are the worst side effects of the medicine. Now if I can get them to do an MRI on my back that would be great. Thank you for the prayers and keeping me going. This blog has been a Godsend to me. If anybody has advice on how I can get them to do a MRI I would greatly appreciate it.

I hope they really figure you out there! You are so brave even though you're a bit anxious. I keep a big file of all my medical information too! It's like I have over 600 pages now after 3 years. I hope you feel better and they take great care of you! Keep busy with crossword puzzles, books and letting us know how the tests go 🤗

Painedlady, I'm praying for you and hope that you get the answers that you need. After they have done the tests they need to do for your heart, perhaps you can tell them about the severe back pain and just flat out ask them how to go about getting an MRI for it while you're there. I hope and pray that they figure out what's happening and that it's not anything that can't be taken care of with medication. {{Hugs}}💕🙏🏻🌻

Focus on one spot in your back, describe it clearly. Not just it hurts but the type of pain, what makes it worse and what makes it better. I discovered being to general doesn't work. Good luck with the heart stuff. I know when I was in a lot of pain it made my blood pressure sky rocket. Try to stay calm and relax I know easier said than done.
