Some doctors need to retire

Aug 06, 2019 8:42 AM

So I had to have a follow-up EGD on Friday, for my Barrett's Esophagus. I explained to the doctor about my C3-4 & C7-T1 non-healed discs (due to the procedure going down my throat, & my spine doc told me to make them aware of it to be careful), and the GI doc bluntly started "that doesn't matter to me." Ok πŸ˜• He came into the room (while I was walking up from the anesthesia) to tell us that I have"candida esophagitis" & "gastritis", with the candida all in my GI track, and they'd be calling in a RX for me. Once I was totally awake I asked the nurse if the doctor could come back in so I could ask him a specific question, of whether the candida (yeast) was because of my Sjogrens (my rheumatologist said Sjogrens causes it). The doc stepped into the doorway and said snappishly, "We will discuss this at your follow up, because you won't remember any of what is said today," and turned and walked out. My hubby was like, "that was beyond rude and you are totally awake!". He's so ticked off he doesn't plan to see him for his EGD (he has Barrett's Esophagus too), but plans to see a new doc.

Funny that I remembered it completely! πŸ€”. Oh, and the Rx never got sent in until after my 2nd phone call yesterday, not to mention we left a voice message for him on Friday at 2:30 (& still in office; some docs close on Friday). I'll be changing doctors too after my follow up, where I intend to let him know he was rude and his staff is incompetent. 😑. He needs to retire!!

Thanks for letting me get rid of some frustration! Everyone have a blessed day, with love hugs & prayers! πŸ™‚β€πŸ™πŸŒΌ

That doc was very rude! I'm sorry you had to go through that. I don't blame you for changing docs.

What a jerk! You and your hubby are right to be upset. I’d let him know and then promptly find someone else. When a doctor acts like that it’s time to throw in the towel and retire. Their not only doing you a disservice but who knows how many others. Did you finally get your Rx? Sorry you had to deal with the jackπŸ¦“!πŸ’

Painwarrior, I received my prescription 4 days later, after having to call their office. We went to the follow up and when he gave us the path results (good), I told him that my rheumatologist said Sjogrens can cause thrush, so I asked him if he thought that's why I had the candida esophagitis. He looked at me and said "I've never heard such." You need to talk to your rheumatologist because that doesn't make sense. Really? I have heard it from other doctors & read it in several Sjogrens articles. Dr Duh needs to retire because he's clearly not staying updated on disease processes. He added Rx for my very sluggish GI function that day, and I told him I was unable to take Linzess due to side effects. And again it took 2 phone calls to their office, first because they didn't call it in, and second call because he called in Linzess! He said I'd need a repeat EGD next year...I told my hubby it won't be with him.

I don’t blame you for feeling that way. You should send the bas*+~# a copy of a peer reviewed article on the subject about the Candida. Not to do him any favors but to educate him so no one else has to suffer. I would promptly find another specialist that has brains and a heart β™₯️ That’s gonna be difficult! Lol sending you my best.πŸ˜˜πŸ’•πŸ€—πŸ¦‹

Lol, you got that right Painwarrior! πŸ˜„ He must think he's practicing on the"yellow brick road"

β€œYellow brick road.” Ya and what is the wizard smoking? It’s time for him to quit the Oz business and retire. Hope your day is going well for you. πŸ¦‹πŸ’•πŸŒΈ
