Some good news and some bad news

Oct 23, 2017 11:42 PM

So I went to the doctor last Tuesday after having an MRI on Friday and nerve study on Monday. I have severe nerve damage that will take 2-3 years to get back fully. I am able to slowly get out of my brace. I have to have another surgery to repair my capsule in my hip. My quad, sorry if that's not how you spell it, wasn't turning on because of the nerve damage. I couldn't kick out my leg when sitting in a seat, when I laid down on the ground I wasn't able to lift my leg straight up. On Saturday I was able yo lift it and I'm able to kick out more. I'm progressing a lot fast then the doctors thought I would but its still a long time before I'm better.
Side note, I am seeing a new doctor and he is so much better than the last one. He has given my physical therapist things to do with me, he scheduled an MRI and nerve study for me. And the other doctor wanted me to sit at home doing nothing other than rubbing and slapping my leg, which I have hypersensitivity due to the nerve damage.

I am glad you found a better doctor. I switched doctors in july and it has made a world a difference. He is working with my pain and finding me medications i can afford. My insurance wont cover physical therapy, well enough of it to make it affordable to me. Stay strong and you will make it.

So glad to hear you found a good doc, and that you are making progress, even if it is slow.
