Sometimes I feel like my body is against me!

Jul 21, 2014 10:21 AM

• I have health issues from my head to my feet!! The numbers represent the "1-10" pain scale that doctors usually ask you about.
• Head- I get migraines, mostly in my temple area. When I get them, I get nauseous, I see big dark spots (like I’m in a tunnel), I get dizzy, and usually I throw up. I can’t concentrate, can’t handle light or noise. I have to go in a darker room and lay down. The only thing that can ease these at all that I have found is hydrocodone (if I can keep it down.) Thank God, lately I have not had them a lot. I get them if I am in the sun very long, if I am stressed, if I am on the computer to long. Etc. Probably would be considered an 8 for me in your pain scale.
• My short term memory is the pits. I can’t seem to remember things and it is scary. I have made lists but then I forget where I put the list.
• Ears- My hearing has gotten worse over the years but I have always had problems with my hearing. When I wake up they are very wet inside. I have had tubes in my ears twice which caused quite a bit of scarring. I have seasonal allergies and chronic sinusitis which causes issues with all my sinuses often. 4-5
• Neck- I have sharp pain in the back of my neck (leading into the back of my skull.) I also have arthritis in that location. I would give this a 5-7.
• Breathing- I have Asthma. I have a hard time breathing just going up a few stairs. I have tried to go walking to lose weight but am out of breath and very sore before I even get a block away. I have to turn around and go home.
• Have hirsutism –not painful, just irritating. I also have endocrine issues, but the specialist was unable to pinpoint what the problem was.
• Shoulders- I get pain on the tops of my shoulders, into my neck. It is more of a deep soreness. 4-5
• Stomach- I have GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) and have to take Zantac daily to relieve this. I also have issues with my bowels as I don’t poop as often as I should. 2-4
• Female parts- I have had a specialist tell me that he thinks I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. I have had irregular periods all my life. I had a hard time getting pregnant. I can't lose weight.
• Back- My back is horrible! I get a sharp pinching ache in the top and middle of my back. 6-7
• My lower back is an AWFUL source of pain for me! From (not sure how to word this) the end of my tail bone to the top of my buttocks I have HORRIBLE shooting sharp pain. I have Bilateral Pars Defects at L5-S1. There must be some kind of complication because I have had so much pain and so many issues with back pain for quite some time. I also have a cracked tail bone. This is also something I have to take pain medication for (as well as the migraines.) This gets so bad sometimes I just cry. I can’t lift anything or move anything that is heavy. When my daughters want to climb on me or want me to hold them to play, I am in a lot of pain. I can’t get comfortable. I end up having to lay down or raise my legs to try and help the pain. I am so frustrated that I have such a hard time. 8-9
• Hips- My hips are sore a lot, a deep aching sore. 5
• Feet- My feet are swollen in the mornings sometimes.
• Overall- I have Fibromyalgia. I am always so sore. If someone leans on me I hurt. Any kind of pressure on my body causes a stabbing pain. It seems like my whole body. Some of the worst locations have been listed here. I can’t sit for long- can probably only sit for 10-15 minutes before I have to shift and find another position. I can’t stand for long. If I am in a line or something, I can only stand for maybe 10-15 minutes before I’m looking for somewhere to sit because my legs and back are hurting too bad. I can’t even sleep for long. I think I’m awake four to five times in the night. I can’t find a comfortable position. I can’t hold my kids the way I would like to because I hurt all the time. I have 7-8
• Hands- When I wake up my hands are swollen and are for about an hour or two after I am awake.
• I have Dyshidrotic Eczema which causes my hands to peel at least three or so times each year. I feel like an alligator and it is embarrassing. I have seen pictures online that look much worse than mine, but it is still very irritating. I have used Tinactin to help, but it didn't make a difference. When it peels down to the red it gets very painful to use my hands to do anything. My hands catch on blankets and clothes. If I use a cleaner my hands get very irritated and red and hurt very bad. 3-4

I'm sorry. it does feel like our bodies are breaking down with us trapped inside (I have RA disease, hypoparathyroidism, Raynaud's, degenerative disk disease, moderate hearing loss (born with it), kidney problems due to reflux and I have MRKH). believe me...I get it.

The pain in your low back sounds like the sciatic nerve, mine would cause my entire back to spasm, badly. I also got shooting pains down my legs. I'm on a muscle relaxer all the time to prevent those painful things.

talk to your doc about getting cortisone injections into your spine. the fifth time actually helped (doc tried something diff).

There are ways to treat all the horrible things in our lives, keep looking, keep fighting, and remember that you get one life, if this is it then do the best you can with it. It's not fair, it's not ok, and I have horrible days too...I also have REALLY good ones (not very often...but I don't) those are worth every painful step forward.
