Starvation mode is real

Mar 30, 2017 10:48 AM

So all or most of u know I've been struggling with my weight. So I went to the doctor for a follow on the Lupus and fibromayalgia and he tells me that I've gained more muscle tone then I had when I started with him and that my bidy needs more fuel.
I was upset because I had gained weight according to the scale. So he went through the whole explaination of how starvation mode works. This is not the first time I was told I was in the mode. This is so frustrating because trying to find the right type of food and right amounts is more exhausting then all the other things GS I deal with daily. But I do want to loss the weight so I suppose I'll listen to him and give it a try.
He suggested that I eat as if I'm at a dinner party. Ex. There are several tests of sample of sized foods and u take a bit here and there over the whole time. So keep same sized foods that u can keep cool. Like sandwich squares fruits and veggies meatballs ECT.
I can't walk some people dont believe in the is but I do and several doctorsin different fields have said this same thing. So it must be some merit to it.

I've started to do something a little similar....I'm using my slow cooker and making soups, I put either chicken (no skin if using thighs or drums on the bone), beef or soya chunks or I cook pork loins separately.....I do it this way so I can pick at the soup all day, a bowl at lunch, one mid afternoon and one at dinner and sometimes one mid evening if I'm still hungry!
I'm keeping lots of fruit and veg around as well and yogurts to put over a fruit salad if I fancy it.
My problem is I still want all the sweet stuff on top, along side it and with it all!!!

You can do this, you need to eat to come out of starvation mode you need to choose which are the best foods to help you loose weight....The diet that helps me lose weight more effectively is one which is meat heavy and low carb but I don't always follow the low carb bit....It's more like everything heavy!!! Lol sometimes you to laugh and lighten the mood otherwise you'd go crazy with it all!!!!

You've got this NewFibrogirl, hang in and keep at it and little by little it'll drop away.....Slow and steady wins the race xx

New check out Eat more 2 weigh less group on MFP. You will learn so much! Contrary to what some people think when they see the name of the group it doesn't mean eat everything willy nilly, it's about learning how to maximize what you eat and still lose the weight, but in a much healthier way. The people in that group are awsome too!

And as difficult as it is to overcome societies pushing the "eat less move more" mantra it can be done. And you won't know what to do with all the energy when you start fueling your body the way you should!
