Achy can i ask what your pain was from?

Sep 30, 2015 10:39 PM

Dr said sound like fibro but he don't believe fibro exists lol so diagnosed as peripheral neuropathy. Then few days later examined me and thought herniated disc (I doubted). I did have slight lower back pain but majority was hip and leg pain and numbness with shooting pains. I felt like my bones hurt including my arms hands feet shoulder blade and base of skull. Numbness would just start in my arm driving down road. Amazing that's all gone

Are there any other side effects to the drug?

Sep 30, 2015 10:51 PM

So far just energy and decrease in appetite. First few days I think they made me sleepy but after couple days I felt great

Well after MRI yesterday my back was achy blamed on MRI but woke up this am and pain is back in hands and feet and this time the worse leg pain is on the right instead of left. Pain has gradually increased all day. I'm on just 900 mg gab surely it's too soon for tolerance. I've been on very high dose in past after 3° burns. If still hurting tomorrow I'll be calling Dr about increase dosage. Thanks fallen yes I am aware of that as a side effect hopefully it won't be mine if y'all see me change in attitude point it out again to me. Love you all

Achy, I'm sorry the relief didn't last. Fibro generally is pain in the muscles and soft tissues, tender points. I have osteoarthritis and sjogrens, and they make me hurt all over, especially the bones and joints. I have lumbar and sacral disc bulges and tears, plus facet osteoarthritis. I get sciatica and have for 20 years. It often changes sides on me, they say mostly because my SI joints move out of position.

Is it possible you have facet issues or Arthritis? Get a copy of your MRI report. Often times there are statements of incidental findings and our doctors fail to mention them. Good luck. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. 🙏🌼

Radiologist impressions said Mildly tethered spinal cord which my Dr says normal MRI. Which I googled and it actually sounded to me like it could be some of the issue. Idk I go back to Dr Wed. Will discuss more with him. Thanks

Miserable night even with my temazepam 30mg. Hurt all night few times I did sleep to dream I hurt can't hardly move this morning whole body feels like everything is broke. I made it to the kitchen for water crying all the shuffling way. Hubby asks hurting? I answer horribly. He goes back to watching TV no support here. When it's this bad it would be nice to be held (gently) as right now my night clothes are killing me just touching me. Def a pain pill day which lorcet usually won't touch it. Hoping my Dr will prescribe something stronger. He doesn't like to do pain meds at all. When I had 3° burns I did get two weeks percocet but that was all even after skin graft. Sorry just feel so helpless unloved and hurting badly

Achy, my heart breaks for you. I am so saddened to hear that you are having such a difficult time. Lack of sleep and horrible pain is not a good combination. I know what you mean about just wanting to be held. (And knowing that even the gentlest touch is going to bring pain but is soothing just the same). I have been in a flare and I'm certain it's both RSD and Fibro. My skin hurts, my feet are swollen and red and warm to the touch and I've not slept but an hour or two a night for several weeks. I'm grouchy, exhausted and have been having horrible nightmares. I hope that you find relief soon. I can't understand why your doctor would not give you better medication and would only give you Percocet for a week after sustaining third degree burns and having skin grafts. I am sending you gentle {{{{Hugs}}}} to comfort you. Know that you are never alone and never will be. There is always someone to chat with when you're in need. We care about our community family and hurt for one another when we feel blue or are hurting badly. I pray that today brings you some relief and a better day. Hang in there, we're standing by if you need us!🌻

Thank you all. It's encouraging to see how positive y'all can be for others even when you're going thru same pain or even worse pain than others. I want to be able to build people up too when their at their darkest moments. Thanks everybody

Achy, it always makes me feel better when I can reach out to help someone. You do the same thing when you reach out and welcome new members. It's really not hard to do because we understand what each other is going through. Pain is all relative. Some may have higher pain tolerance than others. I live with a daily pain level of 8/10 but that is what my body has gotten used to. I'm certainly not happy about it but that was the hand I was dealt and therefore have to put one foot in front of the other and have the group walking beside you. I always say that if the pain is bad enough that it is ruining your day to day function, it's bad. I'm so glad you are feeling welcome and supported here. I look forward to getting to know you. {{{{Hugs}}}} and prayers. 🌻🙏🏻

Along with all the normal fibro pains does anybody else experience a tight band around abdomen and back.Stabbing, burning, like you are wearing a very tight girdle.
