STILL No Sleep!!

Sep 18, 2015 3:11 AM

Well, it's after 4am and I've not gone to bed yet again. I'm in a flare and my pain levels are very high. While I'm exhausted, the pain won't let me sleep. Hope I fall asleep before 6am buy either way the likelihood will be I'll only get an hour or two at the most. In time, it will catch up to me and I'll sleep day and night from sheer exhaustion but then I'll feel like crap from too much sleep!! Go figure.. Sometimes you just can't win. I hope the rest of you are having a peaceful slumber and lite pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.💕🙏🏻🌻

Nope. I'm right there with you. This is the second night of my flare, and lately they have been much worse. I will wake up in severe pain, and I have to will my joints into moving...very very slowly before I can get out of bed or so much pain. Still on Cimzia (my third biologic) but not sure it's working anymore.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are up and in so much pain. I have had only about an hour of sleep each night and this is the 4th night and I haven't gotten ANY sleep tonight. I'm exhausted but feel so God awedul, I don't know what to do with myself. I hope you get some rest. Hang in there and I'll be praying that you get some much needed sleep soon.🌻🙏🏻

I'm sorry you both couldn't sleep. I'm also in a flare, but at least my meds help me sleep. Maybe this weekend will bring a better change to your rest! 🙏🌼

I'm right with you all, after my procedure on my back I was in major pain that day and the day afterwards. Then it went fine wed and Thursday then I went to get up this morning to get my kids up for school and my whole body went into a flair. My back froze up and locker up and it took me 15 mins to stand up. I am completely and utterly exhausted and I can't tell you why. I pray your Flair ends real soon Alwayz and that you get the peaceful and restful sleep your body needs.

Well, here we are, Saturday.. In the last 48 hours I've had NO sleep. Not even a nap!!! The 5 days before have all been about an hour a night. I think I'm delirious, I feel like when you are gotten up from surgery and you've been under anesthesia for 8 hours. I am very, very tired. I think today I am going to take a muscle relaxant early and maybe it will knock me out. (I can only hope). Part of the problem may be from being totally depleted of thyroid hormone and I'm on 300mcg of synthroid which is an extremely high dose so that may be why I'm up. I think that if I start to doze like I did yesterday I am NOT going to fight it. I'm going to let my eyes close and I don't care if I sleep all the way through until tomorrow. It's a weird weather day so my pain is high. So, meds, blanket, and I'm praying... SLEEP!!! I hope everyone has a peaceful day and a light pain load. {{{{Hugs}}}}} to you all. I'll be checking in on you all to make sure you're all doing ok. 💕🙏🏻🌻

My doc Rx klonopin and on top of that, I take 4-3mg (under the tongue) Melatonin that I buy at the grocery store. I'm out for the rest of the night. This routine has worked for me for several years. NOT sleeping is NOT an option. To me, it's an emergency that must be dealt with immediately. It's the only relief our bodies get, the only chance we have for any kind of physical restoration.

I am same can't sleep and when I pass out from exhaustion I wake an hour or two later crying and moaning in pain. I am becoming disoriented and have banged my head on the wall seriously and have matching goose egg horns. I don't have any appetite and have nausea. I am chugging water and feel dehydrated. My back feels like it is sunburned it hurts so bad. A million more symptoms to go with those. I have been forcing myself to walk a mile a day just so I can tell the dr I am walking which contrary to belief does not make me feel better. Summer has ended here and the cloudy days have appeared. I vaguely remember this last year at the seasonal change but this seems so much worse.

OMG...there are folks like ME in the world

I don't know why, but melatonin wakes me up, valerian has been helpful, but there's a small window when it first gets into my system where I hallucinate for 5 minutes, and that's usually the best time to be in bed trying to sleep.

AlwayZ, if you don't sleep tonight maybe you should go to the ER to get something to knock you out. That or take 10 mg Melatonin, turn soft relaxing music on, recline with a blanket and hope that will work. Put the music on a timer so it goes off. Hugs and prayers you will sleep tonight! 🙏🌼

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!! I am praying that I sleep tonight. It's already almost 12:30am and I'm still awake. I'm totally exhausted, but still awake. I'm taking a muscle relaxant and then I think some Benadryl alGood morning
