I've had issues with stomach pain since I was weaned onto solid foods, with no answers (I'm now 23). Had every diagnosis ruled out from intolerances to crohns and have now just been labeled with "IBS made worse from fibromyalgia". At least I get the pain meds I need now, but I'm still not satisfied with that answer. I feel like I know my own body enough to tell that there's something else wrong, but all the tests, scans and cameras say otherwise :(
Hello, What I use to help with the stomach and gut pain due to IBS, is my Gastroenterologist prescribed AMITRIPTYLINE. It does help. Also I take a capful of Miralax a day, and surprisingly this also helps with the stomach issues. None of the above mentioned will cure the IBS issues, but they do help. Check with a Gastroenterologist Specialist for help with your specific issue.
Tried amytriptaline and gave me awful shakes and nausea, doc has put me on nortriptaline instead but it's done nothing for my bowel symptoms, only mildly dulls my joint pain from the fibromyalgia. I take nefopam for pain relief but it's not great. I'm just not comfortable taking opioids because I always have bad reactions, naproxen almost killed me and tramadol gives me flu like symptoms so if anyone could suggest any other non-opioid pain meds my ears are open! :)
I have had a lot of test done I'm not even sure what all has been checked the new gi put me on linzess for the constipation and also cholestyramine because he thinks it's a over production of bile but I have been much much sicker since they put me on these meds I stopped taking them two days ago still in a lot of pain I throw up a few times a week when it's bad mornings are the worst for some reason. I need answers soon I have been dealing with this for a while now I can't take living in this pain much longer I'm tired all the time I don't go any where I'm to sick to work. one of my doctors put me on methadone as pain managment which I know now was stupied it does not help really and now my new doctors look at me like a drug addict I am in the middle of weaning off from that and don't have anything else to help with pain things like Advil and stuff just make my stomach hurt worse I just want answers I just turned 34 and I feel like a 90 year old woman I am desperate.
oh and as for the mirolax I have been taking that for about 8 months now it does help a little. I also let them take out my gallbladder in October because they said they thought that was the problem but no relief same problems just getting worse :(
