Strang Pain Left Side and Neck & Back

Feb 22, 2015 11:02 AM

I have found out that my vertebrae's in my neck are damaged and I have gone for physical therapy that has help me to manage the pain. For a period of time I had pain that was so bad I went to the emergency room three times and there was nothing they could do for me. My primary doctor sent me to a physical therapist that has taught me how to do small workouts that help to keep my neck pain in a manageable level.

I also have on my left side numbness and tingling and down my left arm and more severe in my left hand. I have numbness and tingling down my left leg and more severe in my left foot as well as my left foot has severe pain in my three little toes. I am not sure if the pain in my three little toes has anything to do with the tingling and numbness in my left leg or possibly my left ankle that I have twisted in the past.

I have had an MRI of my neck and right shoulder that determined I have slight arthritis. When it all first started with the severe neck pain so intense that I went to the emergency room it seemed that the pain would move from one part of the body to another part of the body from my neck down my right arm then to my right shoulder blade. At that time I had a primary doctor that prescribed drugs but did not remove the pain but drugged me up very very bad!
At this point I now have the pain in my neck that I do muscle stretches to help manage the pain down through my back that I think is due to the lack of exercise since I have started with the pain I have almost completely stopped mobility exercise and other things. The numbness and tingling in my left side has not stopped for many months and I have moved to a new primary doctor that is starting all over. This primary doctor seems to understand that there is definitely something wrong but has not been able to determine what actually is the cause.

I am creating this because it is part of this program is feature and to best describe my current issue. I thank you for your time and hope to benefit from this program not just from being able to maintain a diary of my pain for myself and my doctor, But to also maybe get some help from the online forum.

Hi Superman! Welcome to our community. Have you seen a neurologist yet as the symptoms that you describe on your extremities sound like they could be nerve from compression or irritation. And maybe an MRI of your lower back can help also. Just a thought.
