I wonder how that will impact your back though? My hips are feeling weaker and feels like a nice streach could help. However the back still could be an issue. Seems like form would be very important here.

I feel the need to point out that the chick in the pictures is super flexible.
Those who are going to try happy baby and the bottom 2 will probably need a strap so they can reach.
If i tried the wide squat it would look like I'm sitting in a chair.
And the top one looks like I'm attempting to lunge.
Most of us won't get low enough to put the knee on the outside of the body
That being said they are great, really hard stretches.
Just remember to keep knees and ankles lined up so you don't hurt them and try to keep your low back on the floor for happy baby.
Don't try to match the depth in the pictures, just do what you can. If that is simply sitting up straight that's great. Try to keep a straight back when going the sitting ones.

Flappys, thanks for posting this. Happy baby is actually one of my PTSD stretches that I should be doing right now. Oops. And yes gotobef, that is definitely key for happy baby.

Stretching is one of the most important parts of my day....actually 3 times a day. My Carers manually stretch my legs and arms for me, it helps with the clonus and spasms I have. We spend about 45 minutes each time and then my muscles get a massage,which also helps with blood flow.

Gawd! I know I should be stretching to relieve the pain and I used to be super bendy from 25 years of classical ballet. But God damn I cant even bend without it hurting now!😒

Could everyone please post pictures of themselves trying to do these stretches. I really believe it would help us all out to laugh at - I mean learn from - everyone else. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Seriously though, I love yoga! Last year I got a phone call from my then 13 yr old son's assistant principal. He wanted to let me know that my boys physical education teacher was very upset with my son. He went on to explain that my boy had been making comments and causing a disruption all through class when he was meant to be quiet. Confused, I asked what they had been doing in phys Ed that required them to be silent. He informed me that they were doing yoga, and my son kept making jokes- he even called out a few poses that were of particular amusement (downward facing dog, happy baby). He asked me if I would talk to my son about his behavior. I said that, of course I would. Then I said, "One question. Mrs --- seriously thought that she could have a room full of thirteen year old boys and girls do advanced yoga poses in an atmosphere of calm silence? Don't get me wrong, I love yoga, but it is ridiculous to watch beginners try it. Every time. I'll talk to him, but unless you tranquilize him, he's going to think this experience is hysterical. And, not for nothing, but I'm betting he's right about that." The VP had to choke back a laugh when he replied, "Well, when you put it that way..."

I can do happy baby & the bottom two partially, just not as good as the pictures. But I don't do them I in front of anyone, so no pics. Sorry😁
