I'm not sure how to know if I've subluxated or dislocated?

I mean yeah I have a lot of joints that pop and crack but I dunno if it's because I'm subluxating or what. This year I've just been finding out a lot of the things I thought were normal are actually not normal and I'm still trying to figure things out lol.

Just thought I'd ask because someone here has more experience than I do.

From what I've been reading, if it goes back into place on it's own (you don't have to manipulate it) then it's a sublxation. If you or someone else has to manipulate it back then it's a dislocation.

Thankfully my hip subluxes, but my shoulder and wrist often need to be reduced manually.

Hope this helps. :) It is so confusing isn't it. There was a great debate about this on the inspire forums. I don't post there very often anymore as they have some members that I don't care much for.
