Subutex for chronic pain

Jul 05, 2017 7:34 PM

Anyone think that subutex works amazing for chronic pain?

They wanna put me on bupinorphrine too. At least that's what was talked about in my first pain management appointment. I go back next week to discuss and I honestly would prefer to just stay put on what I'm on because that's what's manageable for now.

What is subutex?

Spunky ...subutex is what they people they think are addicted to opiates...to get off them....it blocks any kind of opiate...if you take it and then try to take a pain pill...it doesn't work. At least that's what it started out being used for.

Oh, that's why I don't know; docs just dropped me and I asked about withdrawal and was told deal with it!

I actually think that Subutex works 100% better than any other pain pills I’ve ever been prescribed, and I’ve taken everything from Hydrocodone all the way to 60 MS Contin which is extended release morphine. I’m 26 years old and when I was 18 I rear ended at 45mph turning into a neighborhood and as a result I have a Herniated disc in the L3 L4 of my spine and l have chronic back pain every day of my life. At first I started taking 10mg Hydrocodone and 350mg Soma for the pain as well as my muscle spasms and I was never really able to get the pain under control without feeling sluggish all day and eventually went upto the 60mg MS Contin morphine which did relieve the majority of the pain except I still wasn’t able to feel normal and actually live life managably without that sluggish lazy feeling. Finally I reached the point where I didn’t want to continue living my life with my chronic pain being manageable if the only way to do it was by feeling that way so after researching all different kinds of medications and therapy’s I found a doctor that was a true advocate of Buprenorphine (Subutex) working for chronic pain and i felt good with his treatment style and comfortable around him so I went all in and it was the best thing that happened to me. I’m now 26 years old and I teach elementary special education and am able to feel normal and my pain manageable every day. I take 8mg Buprenorphine (Subutex) Twice daily so 16mg a day along with Therapy An yoga. Sorry if I rambled on but my experience is that not only does the Subutex work much better than anything else it also doesn’t effect your daily life or give you any of the lazy or sluggish symptoms that every other opioid pain medicine does.
