Sunshine and gardening

Mar 30, 2015 9:37 PM

It was a beautiful sunny day. We were able to finish planting our garden today. We planted green beans, small cream peas, purple hull peas, black crowders, carrots, squash, corn, okra and tomatoes. My lower back and shoulders is killing me tonite. I Hurt so much while we were planting everything I kept telling myself that it all will taste so good this fall when we are eating it.

Sometimes it's nice to look and see what you were able to push through. Hopefully it didn't initiate a flare up and is just soreness! So proud of you and jealous of the garden. I'm in a studio and can't have a full home garden myself!

Weezie, I'm jealous too. 😉 I can't work in the garden anymore. But we do buy crops from others and put them up. Its wonderful knowing there are no preservatives. I hope you have perfect weather for a very blessed garden! 🙏🌼

Thanks Flappsy and my do mask my pain, I think it's just soreness I hope that everything comes up.changing the subject my daughter had to come have some testing at the hospital yesterday and had to be admitted for 24 hr ops due to her blood pressure. The Dr. Said that she has to go on bed rest and we have to keep an eye on her blood pressure and that she is going to have Preeclampcia or Toxiemia before she has the baby it's just a matter of time. Everyone please keep her in your prayers.

Dog mask my pain have you thought about container gardening. Children's swimming pools. Or large pot containers where you can plant two or three plants

Apr 01, 2015 12:45 PM

Weezie, I'm praying for your daughter. My husband has a coworker who had that happen. They took her baby the other day, weighing 2.5 lbs. But moms going home tomorrow and the baby is doing just fine in premie nursery.

Apr 01, 2015 3:08 PM

Flappsy thank you, I hope that the young woman and her baby will be together soon. My daughter 's baby is a little over 4 lbs that was last week, so I hope and pray that Isabella will we closer to at least 6lbs if she has to come early.

I've actually been looking for balcony hanging boxes to plant in. My patio is like 4x3 and the door opening takes up a ton of space and I have a chair so I can read out their sometimes

Apr 01, 2015 3:38 PM

DogMaskMyPain Oh that's the pitts . Is there any way you might be able to get someone to build you a hanging shelf against the inside edge of your balcony ,with several shelves so they wouldn't be in the way of your doors. But still be able to get out side on it. I'm sorry if I am not making sense been here at hospital since 2:00pm yesterday.

I also miss gardening a lot. So at the moment instead I take photos of flowers, trees etc when i am out walking so at least I enjoy their beauty.

Apr 24, 2015 8:22 AM

That's a great idea Garden. I miss working in my yard and seeing new flowers. And I miss vegetable gardening.

mydogmasksmypain, have you checked on amazon or searched the internet? They've got these new PVC pipe gardens that go straight up. There's various holes in the pipes to plant in. Would something like that work? Good luck finding something. 🙏🌼

That's a great idea, Flappsy.... I have seen those around. Every year my younger sister plants a veggie garden and I have taken to planting my things in pots. At least someone can put it on the table, I can plant my seeds and then when I tend to them, they are in tall pots and there is no getting down to the ground. I have to say, this year I really need to let my lettuce grow. Last year, I would go out and tend it and it was so sweet and delicious I never let it get full grown, I was eating it right from the pot... LOL!!! I have to not do that this year and maybe I'll actually get a salad out of it.. Hope you can find something that works for you mydogmasksmypain... I know what it's like when you can't do something you love any more... I always had horses and I just can't muck stalls any more let alone ride... It's been years and I am really getting the itch to go. One day, I'm going to say the hell with it and just go.

AlwayZ, get a horse and really nice padded buggy. I know its not quite the same but you'd still get to see the scenery.

Apr 26, 2015 4:36 PM

Now that's an idea that I really never considered. I would have to take "driving lessons" because it's not as it looks.

Apr 26, 2015 9:35 PM

Its not too hard. You just have to watch narrow roads that drop off the side! You can do it!🙌🙏🌼

Apr 27, 2015 11:27 AM

LOL!!! I love it, Flappsy!!!! I'd have to drive on an awefully wide road around here with all the traffic. There are not to many places around that I know of that would have any drop offs. I really DO want to go riding though. There is no peace greater on this earth, no matter how bad I feel, as when I am around horses. They are a part of my soul. They are such wonderful creatures and after having owned two of them, I would love to own another but it's hard enough paying my own bills without adding to the burden. Maybe I will just have to go one day out of the blue and just do it. I know I'll pay for it later but it's better than not going at all.

Apr 27, 2015 12:10 PM

AlwayZinpain you should go for it because as we all know on hear were going to always feel the pain no matter what we do even if just laying in bed so we need to get some thing to do once in a while that we enjoy As always prayer for pain free days

Apr 27, 2015 1:13 PM

AlwayZ, Eddieray is right. But if you don't want the expenses and responsibility for constant horse care, maybe you could splurge on rides at a facility that does that.

Apr 27, 2015 6:32 PM

Thanks for the encouragement..... I am actually VERY luck and have known the folks who run the stables for over 30 years. I knew her Father and then I met her when she would come down and help out in the office and now she is the one and only one

Apr 27, 2015 7:23 PM

Well I'd say thats to your benefit! Just no racing... Lol 🙏🌼

Apr 27, 2015 11:49 PM

And enjoy a ride for us too

Apr 28, 2015 9:07 PM

I love gardening but has to be in the afternoon because the sun makes me feel sick. That relax me so much but I have to be careful because the last time gave me a flare for a week. And I lost two days of class.

Apr 30, 2015 12:21 AM

LOL. Flappsy, I don't think I'lll be racing anyone at this point... I'll settle for a nice walk/trot through the park looking at all the pretty flowers and plants and trees that are blooming right now. It is a peaceful thing to do and there is nothing like being aboard a beautiful horse, and having a relaxing walk in a quiet peaceful forest. The more I think about it, the more I think I'm going to go and just do it. I think I'll have to dust off my saddle and take a drive over to the stable, pick out the horse I want to ride, give him a good grooming and then go for a nice ride. I hope that all of you do something that you love and that makes you happy. I hope you all have a peaceful and more relaxing day with less pain.
