Surgery Jealousy

Jun 20, 2017 1:58 AM

Hey everyone! So my best friend is having surgery tomorrow morning to hopefully fix his hip dysplasia. So if you could al send some positives thoughts and prayers his way. I'll be taking care of him for the next month.

I can't help but be a bit jealous. /: I have chronic pain due to my spinal problems, and my previously broken leg. However, there isn't really much out there to help me. And any surgery I could have the surgeons won't do because I'm overweight.
I just feel bad that I'm slightly jealous instead of 100% excited and supportive.

Positive vibes being sent out for your friend and for you as well!

Valdeen, I understand your ambivalent feelings. I am too just hearing about it 😉 I had a back surgeon say I wasn't a candidate for surgery and it will only get worse. But I digress...May your friend's surgery go well and the master physician guide the people working with him. A special prayer and hugs for you as he recovers...Being in chronic pain and having to be "on" as his body demands may be trying on your body. Gentle hugs and all my best!

Praying for your friend and yourself.. I was my aunt's caretaker until she passed and it was very hard on my body, so please take care of you to while you take care of your friend... Take breaks ever so often to relax your body and mind. Again you and your friend have my Prayer's.

Thank you everyone! Undortunetly we weren't not as prepared as we should have been. I am now his 24/7 caregiver. He had to have his hip repositionedans screwed back in. So he can't move below the waist and is in quite a bit of pain.

I took a small fall today and bruised up my leg. My back is killing me from bending so much and my whole body hurts. The doctors say he should be getting better everyday as far as trying to move himself around.
