Surgery wednesday

Feb 13, 2015 5:09 PM

Good evening everyone. Just wanted to give a general update. I have MRSA and am colonized. I've been trying to get rid of a little stubborn abscess since late December/early January. 4 courses of antibiotics later and it's off to the OR for me again. I'm in a little bit of discomfort from sitting all day so that doesn't help matters much. I truly hope this one is the last procedure for a long while.

Horns, I hope so as well. Biggest concern for me at this point will be that I am scheduled to be put face down on the or table. Hopeful this does NOT injure my back again.

I hope that the procedures go well for both of you. I'm praying for you both and for the skill of the doctors treating you. I had spinal surgery 5 times and was face down as well. They said that because of being overweight and also the breathing tube, it took almost 2 hours to get me in proper position. During one of the procedures, I woke up and when I was in my room I had some strange bandages on my head. Turned out that the nurse who was supposed to keep my head stable and set me down when in the optimal position, dropped my head and I ended up with 6 staples on one side and 9 staples on the other side to close the gashes. That happened at my 2nd procedure and I had 3 more after that which went without a hitch. Keep strong to your faith, know you're comfortable with your doctors and that everything is going to go smoothly and you will heal quickly and completely. All the very best and God Bless You.

I'm starting to become more comfortable with the idea that I really don't have any control over this so I'm just going to say, "whatever happens, happens." Faith is strong.
