Surprised I survived

Dec 21, 2015 11:17 PM

I had to travel last weekend to the spouse's family home for their Christmas. The trip normally takes 5 hours, so we packed the back seat w blankets and pillows so I could ride in style. I started the driving and was only able to drive 45 minutes then the husband took over. As you all know I have Tarlov cysts and it makes sitting on your bum really uncomfortable. to make a long story short our trip took 7 hours. Every one was on the road in Ga, SC, and NC. I do not know how many times the brakes were hit and cause me to. Be slammed forward then back. But with the help of drugs I made it there and faked the "I'm doing good" for the next 2 days. lol Thank goodness the trip home was normal time. The thing that got me through the ride was stubbornness and tears. Not a thing wrong with those tears. The meds helped but I refuse to 'need ' them. So I'm hoping each of you can get as stubborn as I intend to be for the next few weeks. I have another trip to make after Christmas which will be twice as long. Please everyone stay off the major roads to WV. I really don't want to have to crash in a hotel before I get to my Momma's house. LOL But I am very proud of my stubbornness. Happy Holidays!

I am glad that stubbornness and tear got you through the ride. You're right, there's absolutely nothing wrong with those tears!! I hope that when you head to see your Mom, that the roads are more open and that it doesn't take any longer than it needs to. You should be proud of your stubbornness, it got you to where you needed to be!! Sending positive vibes, gentle {{Hugs}} and prayers that you have a Happy and light pain Holiday and enjoy your next venture to your Mom's house.πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»πŸ˜Š

Zetarlov, I'm wishing you a safe and as painless trip as possible! When you get to your momma's house, rest and allow yourself to take breaks away from others. Like you, I don't want to survive on meds. But I do use them when it's unbearable... Or else I'm unbearable to be around! Have a safe Merry Christmas! πŸ™‚πŸ™πŸŒΌβ›„πŸŽ„πŸŽ‰

I can't imagine you unbearable to be around, Flappsy!! πŸ’•

Oh yes I can be... But it's rare, thankfully. It makes me feel awful when I am like that. Only 2 things cause it: unbearable pain, or stress with my button pushed by (God help) whoever did it! Lol.

LOL!!! I can understand that. I also feel guilty if I get cranky and get snippy with someone. I don't quite have the same feeling if someone pushes my patience or my buttons though!! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜œπŸ˜³

Thanks ya'll, I made it through Christmas with nothing more than Tylenol and heat. Now the true test starts on Thursday as I am breaking that trip to W Va in half. Mom has no internet and I refuse to get it on my phone so won't updat till after New Year. Have a great one!
