(Survey) Plantar Fasciitis - How Long?

Dec 20, 2015 11:52 AM

I've been diagnosed with PF recently and have heard from most people that it lasts a year or so before subsiding. I can certainly understand it taking longer since it's your foot and you are always on it.

Curious how long people on hear have seen it take before it disputes.

Mine took about a year give or take before subsiding. Try filling an empty 2 liter bottle of soda with water, freezing it and rolling it under your foot. I found it's a really good way of getting the inflammation to go right down. Also anti-inflammatories are really useful as well. With that being said, I have not had any recurrences of the PF since that time.

Thanks Amanda. Did you continue your regular activities and sports for the most part over that period of time? I have kept playing golf but have not played tennis for several months, although I plan to test that this week.

I actually did continue normal activities although it hurt like hell to do so, but please keep in mind both feet were affected, not just the one.

I have it in both feet as well. It seems to have its spurts. My feet kill me for about 6 months then feel not as near as bad but still have some foot pains for another few months. Then we start the process all over. While hurting it seems like it hurts more after I've propped them up for your awhile.

TryingHard15, I've suffered on & of with PF since 2009. The first attack was the longest, about 8 months. Now it occurs on & off, when I've been on my feet too long. To try and keep it from happening as often I do stretches daily. Good luck! 🙂🙏🌼
