Swallowing Issues

Mar 31, 2016 8:03 PM

So, I had my home sleep apnea test last night. It'll be three to four weeks for results. But, when I woke last night the oxygen reading was 64%. I'm guessing that's not a good sign. Now, my husband, a very light sleeper swears I don't snore.

So, I got thinking about this...since my physiotherapist has started to work on my neck (which is helping the nerve pain in my arm some), I've noticed I've been having a little trouble breathing. It could be a swollen throat...I've had inflammation of the tonsils for ages. It could be allergies.

Do any of you have inflammation of the throat leading to trouble breathing and swollowing? Should I be going to my dr, or is this just something to put up with until it hopefully goes away?

Dlwc58, If it's been going on for some time is go see the doctor, maybe an ENT doc. They can evaluate the throat with a simple scope in office if they need to look further than the named eye instruments. It's possible your tonsils need to come out if they're really inflamed. But don't worry yourself about what it might be. It is allergy season, and as you said it could be swollen from that. My ENT doc sees me for allergies, asthma, & his specialties. Hugs & prayers it will be easily diagnosed & treated. 🙂💕🙏🌼

I have GERD and apparently the issues in my neck are causing more than just tingly fingers.
Sometimes when I swallow it goes UP instead of down, and it sucks!

I did have a barium swallow at the VA, and of course they found problems and then ignored the test results. It's like every medical problem I have gets blamed on another. This is from fibro, that is from carpal tunnel, the other is from overweight. Sigh.

PrincessChaos, I hear you! Tests? Why bother if the results are ignored? I guess all we can do is to keep pushing until someone listens. It's frustrating, infuriating and painful, but we are worth the battle, if it comes to that!
