TBI and FM

Dec 29, 2014 10:54 AM

Does anyone else have FM, following a traumatic brain injury? Can't seem to find the right meds for this combo. Always in pain, and always exhausted. Any suggestions?

I'm so sorry I can't help. I have FM but due to major illness & surgery. I've also got DDD, osteoarthritis & migraines from prev neck fusions. I finished 2 yr worth of spinal steroid injections last March, all down my spine, and it helped quite a bit. I use Tramadol & voltaren gel mostly. I have major drug allergies/sensitivities so I am probably not a good rep for Rxs. Good luck with finding the right treatments for you!

Yep, TBI and FM, that's me as well. Concussion and messed up neck and back from a car accident. Cranial nerves damaged and facet joints constantly inflamed. Without Gabapentin I can't sleep. Without muscle relaxers and pain meds I can't function during the day. The pain moves around like a whack a mole. Drives me nuts and makes me sad and irritable all at the same time. And I still have cognitive deficits from the concussion. Not sure when if ever that's going to resolve.

I suffer from TBI, multiple blasts and cranial trauma. It happened over several years, and now I have cognitive impairment with spinal, hand and joint pains (no diagnosis for non traumatic pains). I also have photo sensitivity to most bright lights. Taking Tramadol and a host of other meds to treat other symptoms like neurogenic bladder, irritable bowel syndromes, and PTSD. Unrelated hypertension and BPH. My doc just added Gabapentin which I will start on 01/01/2015,

I am welt treating with meditation, and massage therapies which seems to help. I am looking to get bak into acupuncture
