Temporal muscle

Mar 21, 2019 2:57 PM

Does anybody have temporal muscle spasms or temporal arthritis? I was told today that my chronic daily headaches could be one of these. A little confused.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. I've not heard of this so I can't help with suggestions. I have OA, migraines, & cervicogenic headaches with spasms that run up my neck to my head. No headache is easy to handle. Did the doctor provide any pain ointment or muscle relaxers? You can try OTC pain ointment. Hugs love & prayers you will find relief soon! 🙂❤🙏🌼

Yes he prescribed a muscle relaxant called Bacolfen I started taking it yesterday so I’ll see if it does anything. Thank you. I hope you’re doing ok.

I'm doing fairly well. I just wish the weather would decide to stabilize and quit fluctuating 30 degrees every free days. It's not helping my joints! I've been on the Baclofen for about a year now due to chronic muscle spasms from my neck. I can take it up to 3 times a day, and it has helped. But I'm super sensitive to meds due to 2 genetic defects that affect metabolization and absorption, so I try to only take it 1-2x a day. A few months ago I was taking it and Tramadol (both prescribed together) for severe hip pain. On the 3rd day my sister and hubby said I was screwed up, that everything I tried to say came out like I was drunk... I took the meds 8 hours apart! The very next day I stopped the Tramadol and went to only 1 Baclofen.

Do you feel better when the weather is warmer?
Did you feel like your speech wasn’t the same? I was texting the other day and couldn’t write what I wanted to it looked like I was drunk very scary but only happened the once.
I will be up to 3 x baclofen tomorrow but so far it’s not making any difference.

The warmer weather does help with my joints & general all over well being. But I don't do well in hot weather either; temps from 50s at night to low-to-mid 80s in the day are perfect for me, when I feel my best.

My speech was slurred as well as using wrong words when speaking. I didn't type or write anything those 2 days so I don't know if my spelling or word choices would have been right or not. I'm pretty sure it was due to missing the tramadol & baclofen together, as well as my meds sensitivity issues. Both my parents were the same way so I think it is genetic.

Sometimes I just can't think of the right words like TV or lightor kitchen. I have to point or just wait until the words come to me. I do better in warmer weather also. My body can no longer tolerate the cold.

It’s worrying isn’t it when you know you know it but it won’t come out.
My results came back clear for the temporal arthritis so that’s good news.
