Tennis ball trick to massage trigger points

Jul 13, 2015 5:00 AM

have you tried massaging your trigger points with a tennis ball? I do this: I put a tennis ball between my bed and my back right where there is a trigger point. Then I move my body slowly while I am pressing my weight on the ball. It hurts but at the same time it relieves my pain long term.

Hugs, Daniel

Great advice! Thanks Daniel! I'm going to get a tennis ball tomorrow.

Thanks for that reminder Daniel! 🙆 I forgot all about it, but they showed me at physical therapy years ago, only I did it against a wall. Now those exercise balls, the small ones have used the same method. I needed to get me some! 🙏🌼

I was also told to use a wall but in my opinion the bed is more comfortable. Sometimes I lie on one trigger point for 10 minutes. I wouldn't be able to do that on the wall.

btw, if a tennis ball isn't hard enough you can try a golf ball or other objects. I wasn't able to reach the deeper trigger points with a tennis ball.

Do you know where I could find some information on trigger points?
