Hi there, has anyone tried using a tens machine for help with fibro pain? If so, what did you think?

I had a TENS that I used at the base of my skull several years ago, for my occipital nerve that ran from my spine and up over the top of my head. It was badly damaged from shingles and made worse by fibromyalgia. I couldn't use the regular sticky pads, but had a headband with two points that had sponges which had to be wet for the thing to work. It helped tremendously. Not sure, though, how it would work for other painful areas.

My pain has a different source than yours so I can't say a TENs would be suitable but just a note with TENs machines, check that it has the correct settings for you or a custom setup option and don't under or overpay, you can get a quality unit for around £40.
Took my physio & I a while to find the right setup for me and I hope it can give you the kind of relief it gives me....

I have one for all the good it does me (not). Welcome gracesgrower! I have not yet had my 1st appt with rheum.doc, so at present no fibro. However, I have severe nerve pain. TENS did not even touch the pain. I think you should try it because it may help you & any relief is awesome. You could rent one for a month or 2 to see if it works for you. So glad you are here.
