Thank you Vestibular Neuronitis! 👂

Nov 30, 2015 12:38 PM

Last night ended rough. I went to get up out of my chair and with my first step forward I felt my whole body kilter off balance. When I tried to catch my balance I overcompensated and went down on my left side, hip & shoulder. I fell on the treadmill instead of the cold concrete floor (laminate feels non-existent) at least, but I felt my neck jerk downward towards the floor. I had to sit up slowly and then my hubby helped me stand. I could tell immediately that parts of my body moved in ways it shouldn't have. My neck & shoulder stiffened up, as did my lumbosacral area. But the left shoulder and scapula were burning. And later when I got up out of the chair again, I got a sudden shooting pain through my pelvic floor. I took a muscle relaxer, used Voltaren and went to bed.

Today I'm stiff all over. Even after a very warm shower, and stretches, my body feels beat. My hubby sent a msg to check on me. He said though comical in one aspect (& I get that 😱) I took a hard fall and he's worried about me. I do know nothing's broken, and I don't think anythings torn. But I'll almost bet I have bruises in a day or two. I'm also feeling pelvic floor pressure.

The upper arm still burns, but that may be something else. My sister frogged me on thanksgiving (barely) and I thought she'd literally slugged me! It was like when my hubby poked me last month, in the same arm.

Anyway, I'm blaming the inner ear vestibular Neuronitis! 😠 Wishing everyone a good day, with no clumsiness like me! 🙏🌼

Omgoodness you probably scared the snot out of him! Thank God it's just stiff and sore. Tell him you need a Sombra massage (like biofreeze but smells different.) he might rush home hehe Praise God for good husbands. I hope it eases up.

Flappsy, in glad to hear that you weren't hurt worse than you were

Nov 30, 2015 4:34 PM

Oh Flappsy I know it scared you and hubby both to death. It is so scary when something like this happens. I am so happy that you think everything is where it's supposed to be. It is going to be a rough couple of days trying to work out the soreness. It happens so fast that there is nothing you can do to stop it. Even if you had been able to grab a hold of something it may have really hurt you worse. Please be careful, take care of yourself. Sending you prayers, hugs and lots of love.

It scared me! I'm just really glad I didn't fall on my dog! I'm a little more stiff tonight but not everywhere, so that's a good thing. My left shoulder is the worst, and considering I landed on my hip I guessed that's a good sign. Either that, or all that extra padding helped the hip... Lol! And Weezie, you are right.... It happened so fast. If I'd grabbed something I'd have pulled my shoulder out of socket I'm sure. I'm sure tomorrow will be better. But I think I'd best keep my cane at my side and move slower at all times from here on. 🙏🌼

Oh flappy how awful. Glad it sounds like pain is not in more spots. Make sure for the next couple days to keep to light movement. For some reason I have always found the 3rd day is the worst with accidents, surgeries or what ever.

Flappsy, I didn't finish my earlier thoughts.. I must have dozed off and hit reply without finishing and I'm sorry for that. It stands to reason that after such a bad fall you would be stiff and hurting today. The pelvic pressure can also be caused by the fall because of hurting your hip and you have to figure that all of your insides got impacted when you fell. It is a scary feeling when that happens. I got up earlier from my chair and fell off kilter and fortunately I fell back into the chair. Last time that happened, I fell back into the chair and dislocated my thumb which resulted in the tendons tearing off the bones and subsequent surgery. I hope that heat, voltaren gel can help you. Please try to take it easy today and do some stretches so you don't get too stiff but don't overdo anything. I am sending you much love, {{Hugs}} and prayers that you were able to rest tonight and that you wake feeling better and have a peaceful and less painful Tuesday.💕🙏🏻🌻

AlwayZ, you are so funny... apologizing for falling asleep! Shoot, I'm glad you could fall asleep with everything you've been going through. Hot toddies & rest for you! I am feeling much better all over, even though laying flat feels like a rock is under my scapula. I had PT today and could definitely tell it on the left shoulder. I can't last on the left shoulder either without discomfort that's not normally there. It's just mostly bruised & stuff feeling today though. It'll hopefully be gone in another day or two. 🙏🌼
