That old anxious feeling is back

Feb 01, 2016 1:53 PM

Hi guys,
Well tomorrow is a double whammy for me. Pain management at 8:00 am(Ouch) and then turn around and go to the surgeons office at 11:15 am(double ouch). I'm trying to seriously distract myself right now, which works for a bit and then the anxiety starts again. I already know what's gonna happen then so that does NOT make me happy. But for me, it's worth going through getting this abscess cut out of my leg. Was up most of the night, going back and forth with an ice pack on my leg(yes, pain is that intense right now). Check back in later cause it hurts to even put weight on it to sit for long. The best part about is that if I can't what's happening, I'm much more relaxed.

New, I think I'm more nervous about pain management right now. I think only because there is not a whole lot more that we can do other then to do either the scs(can't do anyway because of the mrsa) or getting the nerves burned which she won't do anyway with me being on antibiotics for the UTI and mrsa flare up. We shall see what happens in the morning.

Amanda I hope and pray it goes better than you think. I have 2 appts tomorrow too, but I'm not having a procedure. Still fighting fatigue from my latest flare so I dread the all at in and out! Hugs & prayers for you! 🙂🙏💕🌼

Flappys, do you think I'll be laughed at if I go in pj pants tomorrow? Everything else rubs lol.

Feb 02, 2016 1:57 AM

Amanda, there are so many kinds of lounge pants out there that folks wear on the "outside" (when they go to the doctor, etc. nobody will know they are PJ bottoms unless you tell them. Besides, they are going to be looking at the abscess and taking the time to lance it, clean and bandage it. Just focus on the fact that by tomorrow it will be take care {{{Hugs}}}💕🙏🏻😊

Wishing you the best outcome. Sorry it's one of those days for you. You are having surgery to have the abscess removed? That's a lot that you're going through - Mrsa flare up, abscess, uti. Wear the PJ's and dare anyone to say something! Take care.

Donamel, yes. Abscess is coming out today. Mrsa flare up, abscess, uti, back pain, etc. It's actually going to be done in the surgeons office this morning. And yes, I have my sweatpants which double as pj pants on.

And then to add insult to anxiety, almost got broadsided by a tractor trailer this morning on my way over to pain management. That was exciting, NOT!!!!!!

Good luck with everything today!!!

Amanda, I like what fibrogirl is saying, please know you are not alone and remember to breath. You have your cheerleading squad here. Your pj pants are fine. Please be kind to yourself and treat yourself as you would a good friend.

Beets,
I was doing absolutely fine this morning until my surgeon stuck his head in the room because he could hear me yelling I think. I looked up and said, "Go away!" The PA said the same thing so that worked. Just embarrassed right now, but no need to be. They realize that it's extremely painful for that especially if it's deep.
