During this past week, I went from excruciating pain (8) to no pain (0) to moderate pain (5) today. It's cold outside. Last night I went to a hockey game. Wasn't the best feeling in the world as the cold just irritates my nerves. I wanted to go to a basketball game, but I'm afraid it will flare up more during and/or afterward.
Hockey games are cold naturally. Basketball games aren't in ice. I always get hot at basketball games. But that's me. Cold makes me hurt more too. If it's cold outside, it takes me a long time to warm up. Good luck in your decision. (((gentle hugs)))
Cold is not my friend either except after PT when they ice my neck and back. :)
Changes in barometric pressure is also a cause of increased pain.
However - even knowing an event will increase my pain I normally will go anyways. Well not always though. Once I weigh out the factors.. And deciding if it is worth the added pain for several days. Wednesday I went to a concert with my son. It was awesome. I knew it was going to cause extra pain for days but I wouldn't trade that experience for the world.
So like most things in life - you weigh the pro's and con's then base your decision on that.
:) and remember that you may have this pain condition but it doesn't have to have you.
