The most embarrassing pain I have ever had.

Jan 05, 2016 7:55 PM

I have been going through some intense pain lately. That is part of the reason why I haven't been here. It is real embarrassing. I am a man and my breast hurt so bad. The top of the breast turn slightly cold and the nipple turns real cold. The tip of the nipple turns bright white. It hurts like a six or seven on the pain scale. The pain radiates across my chest. I am doing something that I am sure my doctor would not want me to do. I am cutting up my lidocaine patches into one inch squares and covering the nipple and it takes the pain down to a three. I told my doctor and endocronologist about it and I don't think they appreciated the severity of it. They just told me it was ok. They didn't realize that I wasn't o.k. I hope they can help me soon. I haven't been on here because it hurts my chest to move my arms when I type. I hope you all have been getting along. I have missed you all.

Breast pain is not fun! When my CRPS moved in there it scared me into thinking I had a tumor but I don't, it's just my nerves being crazy. I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well, but I'm glad you're back! Be careful with the lidocaine, I have been sent to the ER because of them!

Profiler, I can't even imagine how painful that must be! I hope you and your doctors can figure out what's going on and can improve it!

Profiler, the pain you describe does warrant trying anything to feel better. Have you tried any of the topical ointments? Some of our docs don't appreciate what level of pain we are in

Profiler, I had mastitis years ago and it was awful pain. I still occasionally get lymph nodes inflamed on the sides of my breasts. When it happens I can sometimes get relief with warm compresses. Have you tried that? If it keeps bothering you or worsens, please see your doctor. Hopefully it's just some neuropathy that will go away as fast as it came. (((Hugs))) & prayers! 😷🙏🌼

Profiler, I am sorry that this is happening to you. Please don't be embarrassed. Just because you are a man doesn't mean that you can't have pain in your nipples. It may very well be some sort of neuropathy. The lidocaine patches bringing the pain down so far is really a good sign. I'm sorry the doctor dismissed the situation and just told you that you're ok. Obviously if you're in that kind of pain, you are not ok. I have been having strange issues with my own breasts lately and that is with incessant itching of the nipples and when I rub it to make it stop, or hurts and burns. Thinking it's probably RSD flare that I'm in. I hope that some heat or the lidocaine patches help you and ease off the problem. Never worry about being embarrassed around us, we talk about bowel movements and all kinds of things here. It's all part of life and what we all go through. Sending you positive vibes, gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that this all gets straightened out. Hang in there my friend. 💕🙏🏻🌻

While I'm relatively new here, there is no pain so embarrassing that we can't discuss it. Don't know about anyone else, but I don't think any area of my body is immune from pain. From reading the messages on this board, all here are compassionate and understanding. Hope that helps.

Hey Profiler it is not uncommon for men to have breast pain. In fact many runners have serious issues with their nipples getting chafed from fabric friction. I know your not out running a marathon, but "baby it's cold outside ". Have you tried protecting the skin with lotion or covering it with a band aid? I am wondering if the covering or the lidocaine is working. Take care :)
