The sleep struggle

Jan 09, 2017 10:38 AM

As we all know finding or getting anywhere near a good night's rest is forgiven to us. I was doing pretty well with sleep after surgery due to healing process and the doctors gave me a little help with meds.but now all that is winding down and I've been fighting the insomnia for a few days. Even when I attempt to a little extra activity to hopefully make me extra tired usually I just end up causing more pain thst keeps me up. I've gotten spoiled with sleeping and really want to find it again.

That's one of the hardest things to cope with after you've had a run of sleeping well. I really feel for you, I wish I had a magic wand to make it better but I'm afraid that not even a concrete mallet will help.....I tried that on myself the other night and the resounding headache kept me awake for even longer hhhhmmmmm maybe I didn't hit myself hard enough!

I hope you have a better nights sleep tonight xx

Sezzy don't hurt yourself with that mallet. Be kind and gentle to yourself. May help to find extreme relaxation which is for me the next best thing for slerp.

I'll row over that pond now in my little row boat with the mallet for you....it only worked for an hour and a half tho but at the moment I'll take that over nothing!!!!

There are videos on YouTube that have sound patterns designed to lull the brain into delta waves. Essentially it's like sound hypnosis, which would be helpful if you could be hypnotized (not me)

have u tried melatonin? Not miracle cure but does help me occasionally get some rest when i take it along with my pain meds.
