It is a way of matching your day to the energy you have. You start with 10 spoons ( I think) and different tasks need one 'spoon' of energy to accomplish. Getting dressed, brushing teeth to doing laundry all require one spoon. Bad weather may make some tasks taking more than one spoon or more energy.

It was Christine's way of trying to explain her pain and the energy it took to do every day tasks.

Personally, I find the whole thing silly, but I still use the 'spoonie' hashtag, since #ihaveaninvisibleillness is a little too long, lol.

PS. I cannot count how many people have said to me, "But you are TOO YOUNG to have arthritis! (or fibro, or chronic pain, etc.)." I am so sick of it. I also get tired of hearing the "But you don't LOOK sick!" I hate having to be Educator Edna about all of this stuff. It is amazing how uninformed people are. I think I prefer watching funny movies by myself.
