The Spoon Theory

Sep 17, 2017 3:14 PM

I just discovered the spoon theory today. For any of you who might not know it's basically a way for people with chronic pain or illness to describe their energy level. You start the day off with a certain amount of spoons and every activity uses a few up. When you run out of spoons you either are sleeping or using tomorrow's spoon allowance. I will find a link to a website that describes it better and comment it below. Also is anyone else familiar with the spoon theory? ♥️♥️

Oh yes I learned from Sezzy & MimiKay I think. Great disruption and you could even use painted stones in place of spoons MimiKay😄...unless I'm missing part of the concept. I think I'll go read that article🤓

I loved this, I found it a couple years ago. My family came and cleaned my house and left a "bouqett" of spoons from the second hand store in a vase on my table. They wrote a card that they were leaving me "with some spare spoons." I keep it around to remind me that it is ok to ask for help when I am out of spoons.

Never heard of this before, but thats exactly how i feel. I have to space my work day out by going every other day because i tend to use more spoons at work then my day allows and have to dip into tomorrows spoons to get through the shift.
