At age 14 almost 15 I tore my labrum in my right hip.
We just thought it was bruising.
Found out I was really injured and it wasn't just a bruise. First time I had gone into the doctor for my hip. And I got an MRI.
After waiting six weeks, to let it "heal it self" I got an injection in the outside of my leg. Scheduled surgery.
After waiting another six weeks to see if the injection helped. Decide we should wait for surgery and we rescheduled it for November.
November 2016 2weeks before surgery
We cancel surgery.
We go and see another doctor for a second opinion on my hip.
We go back to the first guy and do nothing. We hoped that PT could help.
We go to the first guy and he is saying he doesn't think it will work, that we shouldn't do surgery, this was his last day at that practice.
Later in February
We go back to him two weeks later and he comes in and says to me, are you ready? It will be six month recovery. Etc... Oh and it still might not work.
So we scheduled surgery for two weeks after my birthday.
Birthday, lost my best friend cause she was being a jerk at my birthday party and didn't even acknowledge it.
Two weeks later
My surgery. He came in to pre-op saying it stillifht not work. Comes out after as a completely different doctor. He then knew I really did need it.
PT for 3 months after being on crutches for six weeks. But I was doing amazing.
I swam for the first time in a year. Then I dislocated my hip. It popped out the front and that is very unusual, normally it pops out the side. I am now on crutches and in a hip brace for six weeks.
After that I'm probably going to start PT again.
I will wait another six weeks til imaging and then they will find out what I tore and if I retire anything they had already fixed. And if I need another surgery.
So, that's the story of my injury so far.
